It's the eve of the first day of high school for 14-year-old Ethan and his buddies Benny and Rory, and they're ready to shed their Star Trek pj's and geeky image and finally be cool! Ethan and Benny baby-sit his 8-year-old sister Jane and mark the moment by making the ice cream sundae to end all sundaes. When Jane wanders out to the road by herself and almost gets killed, Ethan's parents slam him with the worst punishment possible - a babysitter for all of their future Friday night "date nights".
