During the 1950s blacklist era, a young and ambitious Hollywood screenwriter (Jim Carrey -- "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," "Batman Forever") loses his job and sets off on a trip up the California coast without plans to return. Along the way, he gets in an accident, loses his memory and is found on the shore of a small town where it is believed that he is the son of one of the townsfolk who went missing in the war. As the missing soldier's return helps bring the town back to life, the writer finds new courage, love and the power of his convictions. Also starring Academy Award-winner Martin Landau ("Ready to Rumble," "Ed Wood"), Laurie Holden ("Past Perfect," TV's "The X-Files"), David Ogden Stiers ("Lilo & Stitch," TV's "M*A*S*H") and Bob Balaban ("Gosford Park," "Best in Show"), and directed by Oscar-nominated Frank Darabont ("The Green Mile," "The Shawshank Redemption").
