Nobody Walks

I watched this film twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. I think the narrative that attempts to explain the dynamics at play in this movie are what kept me intrigued. At any rate, 'twas cool!

Horrible film. Amateurish.

This movie was fantastic. Like some of my peer reviewers, I found it incredibly uncomfortable and desperately all consuming. I loved it. I thought about it all day. I haven't seen a film like this in a while. I was very pleased.

The problem with the way this film is shot is the same problem plaguing most indie films. Indie is no longer indie. It has a distant style that does not reflect Independent (Indie) Directors. Nevertheless, I'm personally over the Indie Elitist bs-the biggest problem with this film is that it tries to address how women are treated. The women in this story are made to be jealous, manipulative, and misleading. The male characters are flat and narrow minded. Sex seems to occupy everyone's mind even the child in the film. The screenwriter/director could use a more nuance approach to address the issue of sex and how it pertains to each gender. I tried to give the film more than one look over but it continues to the topic of sex. This would be great as a 15 minute short. The central theme just isn't strong enough to carry you through out the film. The characters aren't developed for you to like them or hate them. In all i would like to see this retried.

I really really wanted to like this movie. I love all the actors in it but the story just fell flat. There was no actual plot. I felt myself wondering why I was continuing to watch it ( I guess I was thinking there would be a pay off in the end, but there wasn't). It was just a bunch of people hooking up or almost hooking up. A lot of the sub plots were just ignored towards the end. I don't know, I'm a huge fan of independent film but this movie just felt like it was trying too hard. I was actually upset I wasted $10 on it.

A cliché "indie" flick, failed to deliver.

Hate 2 rent the film with Thirlby. Everyday I check the availability of purchase..

Superficial characters. Superficial premise. Superficial acting. And most importantly a whole generation of superficial "filmmakers" remixing quirky indie hits made 20 times over, who know absolutely nothing about life, either their own or others, and want nothing more than to be coddled into the mainstream embrace. Olivia Thirlby is a cream puff, God help her. John Kras cannot seem to get off his sitcom. Rose Dewitt needs to stop trying so hard. Ms. Young needs to understand that yes, cinema did begin before Baumbach made The Squid and The Whale.This is a film made by someone completely ignorant of film history. And yes, I understand that subtitles are challenging, but she really should give foreign film a look. I believe the worst thing about it is the pretense. The pretense of being indie, the pretense of this steaming pile of horse manure being called art, of sincerity. If Ms. Young really wanted to make this film, which is without a doubt her prerogative, it would have been really refreshing to cut right through the nonsense and pretense, put Katherine Heigl in it, and shoot it on the beautiful back-lots of Fox Studios. The fact that something like this required the authorial efforts of two of "indie film's" bright lights points to the very sad, sad state of affairs today. Bergman, Antonioni, Kurosawa, Tarkovsky, Cassavettes, are all so very very long gone. Other than that, Enjoy!

This move was uncomfortable, riveting, breathtaking, creative, inspiring, thought provoking, complex. It was so good. It's been a long time since I've seen a film this good. The main actors were superb. Really well done.
