Yes, this has all the elements of a first year film school project - not even the final project. The themes are not deep, the material certainly is not challenging. Unless you are hosting a MST3K party, stay away from this one.

This is like one of the movies Himself from The Infinite Jest would have made. Never seen anything like it.

This is not for everyone, let me start right there. If you are a slave to the mainstream, run in the other direction. But if you are a fan of original, way outside the box filmmaking, dive right in, because this one is gonna take you on a ride. Part Grindhouse, part David Lynch, and even a dose of Ed Wood, this low budget sci-fi is the perfect antidote to predictable big budget Hollywood paint by numbers. Can see it being a very polarizing film, like The Tree of Life, you are either gonna get it and love it or not get it and hate it. For fans of true cult cinema, this is a crazy gem. The movie takes you into its alternate reality and doesn't let you go until long after it is over. The "b" movie touch is part of the overall effect, as you follow the main character Adam through a wormhole of "human engineering" almost as if you were the character yourself. This isn't The Avengers, so make sure you dig experimental film, because this an exceptional example of that!

I love Sci-Fi and this is my first review ever, just to warn you off. This is pure 1950/1960 art school movie making. I kept thinking it was some sort of campy movie - but it just bad. I don't just want my money back, I want to be compensated for pain and suffering.

With a fast pace & liberal use of stock footage it doesn't leave one bored to death with existentialism like many of the low budget sci-fi films i have seen in recent years with the explosion of digital cinema. While the film takes place in a dystopian future, there is a familiarity with past times of the 20th century that gives it a more retrospective feel. It reminds me of films like "Altered States", "Jacob's Ladder", & "Clonus". This one definitely falls in the same category of cult cinema that while not enjoyed by the masses but is still an interesting piece of work.

One of the most stylish and original films I've seen in all my years. Like waking up inside a dream. Set in a nameless future you'd expect in a Philip K Dick short story, this movie has the kind of anything can happen vibe that only really out there sci-fi & fantasy flics seem to deliver nowadays. Watched it back to back immediately, first to make sure it really happened, and then to delve into the layers of meaning. A kind of modern day Frankenstein meets Brave New World with the human race as the monster on the table. Incredibly psychedelic once they start tampering with the main character's head. Great actor in that role, though I can't remember where I've seen him before. Excellent performances all around, in fact. If, like me, you are a connoisseur cult cinema, particularly of the sci-fi variety, this just might make your year.
