Atlas Shrugged II: The Strike

I watched all three, and this was the only one that stayed true to the book in that the casting of characters matched the books descriptions, the plot matched the book concisely, and the director had a grand vision in the whole picture and the feeling it would bring...evident in the way he used the medium to cast scenery and peoples looks and faces to evoke the story. Well done! The other two are a mess.

Part 2 is awful... Sad to say.. Such a great book. Terrible casting, terrible acting, terrible wardrobe, terrible make up, terrible CGI... And this film didn't follow the book. Did I say the acting was bad?... It's so sad. The movie is laughable.. Dagny is played by a tired looking hag. There is no strength in this actress.. No chemistry between Dagny and Reardon or Francisco.. Francisco is played by a short actor.. Not suave.. Looks like the old Erik Estrada not the handsome young one.. Dagny wears the weirdest ear rings too.. Ayn Rand is rolling in her grave..

Part 1 was a decent albeit slow movie that set the stage and introduced the characters and social themes on which the movie is based. Part 2 is an absolute disaster. If you watch both parts back-to-back, the disconnect between the two is particularly unpleasant. The cast is entirely new, locations are not even remotely the same, and the overall feel of the movie is different. In summary, disappointing.

The cast is NOT THE SAME LIKE PART 1. AND HAVE A VERY BAD ACTORS IN THIS PART 2 . I REALY DONT KNOW HOW THE PEOPLE PUT MORE THEN ONE STAR RATING ON THIS BAD MOVIE.

This may not be made to the full extent or worth of the vision of Ayn Rand. Yet stirred my thought and lingers

This is one of the best most honest movies I have watched in years. This should be a required watch to all high school or college students. This movie shows how the capitalist way of life works and shows how when a socialist government take too much power and exerts too much control the whole working machine falls apart. Nobody works for nothing owning a business s about making money. This is also a staunch warning about where we are going As a nation. Absolutely one of my favorite movies all time. Too bad Hollywood shunned this one the truth hurts too much I guess.

It's like a made for T.V. Stephen King movie, only scarier because it comes from the mind and philosophy of Ayn Rand; who was obsessed with hollywood's leading men and the mythological idea of individualism, hence the title of this movie. Of course it's been more than a half a century since she wrote this conservative trojan horse, and it obvious that she was completely wrong and that government conspiracy completely absurd - it's quite the opposite.

This was a decent movie portal of a great book! Very much worth the time to watch. If for nothing else to promote your thoughts on the topic, for or against.

To the critics, lighten up. It's a treatment, not the book. I've been a fan of Ayn Rand (not quite objectivist) for the past 35 years and I think the movie is good for what it is. The editing could have been better - for example- when Dagny is in Ken Dannager's office - they pan to the ashtray with the cigarette butt- but go nowhere with it. What was that about? They had to make some shortcuts in character development (Jeff Allen became a railroad employee that also worked for the 20th Century motor company - I guess they needed the vehicle that explained the history of the company rather than someone of intelligence forced into stealing a ride on the train). For me, it's worth the price of admission just to get visuals of things like the Rearden Metal bracelet, the truss and arch design of the bridge on the John Galt line, the painting of Nat Taggart, Galt's first motor, etc.... and to see the portrayal of people like Lilian Reardon and Kip Chalmers - minor characters in the book that are brought to life on screen.

I can totally envision something like this happening with the thieves in power right now.
