Hate it. Bought it when it came out and it’s the absolute worst Matthew M film I’ve seen. Dull as can be 😏

This one is unexpectedly good, almost like a modern To Kill A Mockingbird.

HOLY CRAP THIS MOVIE WAS INCREDIBLE. Totally awesome on so many levels. The young boys were awesome, loved the chemistry between all the characters -- even the bad guys!!

I didn’t think it was slow. I thought everything went exactly as it was supposed to be. The kids were great actors. Matthew McConaughey was awesome as usual. However, iTunes don’t you think 6 bucks for a 5 year old movie is a bit much?

Having grown up in the middle-of-nowhere town of DeWitt, Arkansas, I love how they portrayed everything. The first time I watched the movie I was calling out (annoying my wife immensely) all the places they shot the movie at: DeWitt, Stuttgart, Dumas, Jack's Bay, Pendleton, Scrubgrass, La Grue Bayou... all nostalgic for me of course. The second time I watched the movie I saw how well the characters are to true life there. They reflect the personas commonly found in that lovely area. For example, the real life son-in-law of one of the (now long gone) Jack's Bay house boats is a U.S. Army retired full-bird Colonel... and he's a heck of a shot, I might add. This movie shows hardworking values, honesty, integrity, disappointments, poor choices, and personal courage in such a genuine way all the while being so true to life. The movie was a big help to the area, too. Until they shot the movie, the hospital in DeWitt didn't have automatic sliding glass doors. To everyone and anyone that was involved with the movie, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Go Hogs! Never Yield!
