Description

It can be anything. A fanged monster that won't stay on the movie screen. Something ominous lurking in the basement. No matter what your biggest fear is, no one knows It better than Stephen King. Based on the King Of Horror's 1986 bestseller, It is a jittery, jolting excursion into personal fear. A malevolent force in a small New England town takes the shape of a clown, but he's not clowning around. Instead, he terrifies youngsters and brings some to their untimely doom - until some wily kids fight back. The evil resurfaces 30 years later: meaner, angrier, deadlier. And friends who vividly remember youthful terrors reunite to fight It.

With the exception of Tim Curry, possibly the worst, most hammy over-acting you will ever see. And it’s AWESOME. One of those mysteries of life. ;)

Honestly I decided to watch this movie for it’s continuous recommendations by “Horror” movie lovers but it honestly did not live up to my exception of scary & that’s that I’m a scaredy cat. But it did include some funny scenes & great actors of that time. Was entertaining but lacked the action the newer version has.
  • Recommend for Tim Curry fans!

It’s a great movie! It’s not very scary but who cares! It’s story is meaningful instead of just kill, kill, and more killing. I love how the great Tim Curry plays the evil clown Pennywise. Honestly, you could let kids watch this movie IF they aren’t scared of clowns and don’t mind bad language. Overall, I rate this 5 stars for the clever planning by Stephen King, the writer of the book, and for letting great directors bring the pages of one of the most famed books in history to Hollywood’s big screen! But we all have our opinions; personally I am a horror fan and a horror action figure collector.

Not as good as the 2017 version, but still holds up

Not me. It should seem surprising since I watched this movie and I really liked it. But there’s a reason why it doesn’t surprise me that I don’t find clowns scary. Since I’ve been a huge horror fan for most of my life, I’ve seen so many horror movies and read so many scary stories that I don’t scare easily. This movie, just like lots of horror movies that I’ve watched, is definitely scary; I just didn’t find it scary enough to make me hate clowns. I would love to read the book, but even though I haven’t yet, I still recommend this movie! The remake was good, but this eerie, terrifying classic can’t be beat!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This movie scared the crap outta me as a kid. I rewatched it recently and I still enjoy the entire movie. Some of the effects are dated but the acting is superior to the remake.

Skarsgard filled us all with fear with the new "IT" films but Tim Curry is the only one i can refer to as the one, true, Pennywise.
