4.5 stars, because it is another Bier film done her deep, probing way. Always has characters that matter, that your care about, who have real emotional depth and the story takes them a long way into their dramatic history. Susanne Bier has an Oscar for very good reasons. The best woman director since Lina Wertmuller, one of the best writer-directors working cinema for the last decade or so. She is an outstanding talent. This cast is excellent, the story is hard because you want it to get to everlasting love, but in life, love is the chance we get and have to take. No guarantees, except some pain and disappointment are sure to come along for the ride. Meaningful that we see into 9-10 characters all pursuing life and love and the one pair with the most pain know the most about love.

I simply loved this movie. Dyrholm and Brosnan were both great - both of them sweet, a little broken and real. Paprika Steen who plays Brosnans sister in law, does a wonderful job playing one of the most unsympathetic (but funny) drama queens I’ve ever seen on screen. I can truly recommend this movie to everyone:)

A beautiful love story with amazing scenery. Adult love story, not the usual bs crap. The actress is wonderful.

If a movie develops characters well in the beginning even a bad movie can be enjoyed. This is NOT a bad movie but the character development makes a 3 star a 4 star. Very enjoyable.
  • No subtitles on mine

The story is sweet and predictable, but truly enjoyable to watch if you like romance, and happy ends.
