superficial interpretation of life and death. even the part in which she is suppose to “loose control” lack of realism. bad. really bad.

Terrible movie. No plot, script or storyline. A complete waste of my money and time.

This movie looks at what happens when your spouse is suddenly taken away and wasn't the person you thought they were. Very poignant and thought provoking.

Nothing interesting happens. I can appreciate the attempt to subvert expectations about a Christmas movie. Satire has tremendous value, after all. But this movie doesn't execute it's purpose well. The dialogue doesn't fee real. The premise (husband dies) is unlikely. The reaction to the death is not realistic. Overall, a waste of time.

Three cheers for the movie that takes two hours to go nowhere. Just when you think it might get interesting, no no no. It doesn’t. Plot? Who needs one when you have a kitschy Xmas theme. Story? Naaaah, not when there’s a kinky swinging scene. But hey, maybe it’s just me. If you like (spoiler alert!) random scenes of vomiting, reckless online shopping, more vomiting, shoplifting—all set to a Hawaiian holiday soundtrack—this is the movie for you!

This is a really slow and boring movie. A wast of time

Well, "The White Reindeer" is certainly not the usual Christmas fare. That said, it is so sincere and its lead Actor, Ms. Hollyman, lends so much to this dark tale that one comes out the other side of it smiling and yet, somehow, wistful. It is about loss that we all experience and what we do in spite of it to deal with that loss, sometimes something we don't want to think about, maybe something as simple as the reindeer not eating the carrots in the backyard on Christmas morning when Santa Claus visits us, though I don't remember that part of Christmas. The film asks us to ask ourselves how we feel about something we refuse to think about and what we feel about whatever we do think about every year. Whatever the experience is for the individual we all share the loss of that magic. Hollyman is a treasure. I'm not sure everyone would like this film but we think it is more than worth anyone's time. The writing is excellent and the acting is superb. It isn't arcane but it is decidely a trip that sometimes feels like a visit to The Twilight Zone.

Or greatest Christmas movie?!

The holidays can bring out the best and the worst in each of us. White Reindeer is a dark tale of loss and atonement set against a backdrop of kitschy holiday cheer. The film pulls it off in a way that's identifiable and believable, in large thanks to the twisted but authentic humanity of the characters and the beauty of the photography. It's never predictable and often hilarious; one of the best independent films I've seen this year.
