Description

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, an elite, powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. When a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal's humanity is one weapon no member of the Corps has ever had, and if with willpower, determination and the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he will save the Earth and all of mankind from certain destruction.

  • So awful it ruined my life

I was a Harvard educated doctor, I drove a Lamborghini, and had a supermodel girlfriend. Then I saw this movie as a good. This movie was so bad that I started punching babies, and was fired for smoking crack while performing surgery. Ryan Reynolds is talented and so good looking that he kicked Scarlet Johansson to the curb. He said “Woman, I’m Ryan Reynolds and I keeps my Pimp hand strong!” But this movie was a bad choice for him. This movie would have been a bad choice for a homeless junkie looking to leave a life of prostitution behind. If you like this movie, and it doesn’t make you claw your eyes out like Oedipus Rex, you should definitely check out another classic gem, the fine film “Gigli.”

I didn't think this was going to be any good, but I ended up enjoying it very much. I like it, it was very well done...wish they made more.

It was my Brightest Day when this movie was announced and my Blackest Night after seeing the film. I wanted to believe that Reynolds understood Hal Jordan. Sadly it was just Van Wilder with a GL Ring. But I can’t blame him for everything in this film. Simply put next time you go to make a GL Movie, read a comic book - even better just use Geoff John’s GL Secret Origin comic book. It outlines the entire movie and sets itself up perfectly for a GL Franchise…

All these negative reviews are ridiculously silly! This was a great introduction to the character of Green Lantern, and Ryan Reynolds is the best fit for the character. The human race has become entirely too critical, and it's a shame because there are so many wonderful concepts that exist. Stop looking for what's wrong in everything and enjoy the art that exists. A lot of people put a lot of hard work, effort, and time into this and many other creations. Green Lantern 2 will have more action in it, and by the way...the character of Green Lantern has a sense of humor, which was also well represented in the film.

i like Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, the story line was ok. Wrong choice for supervillian in Hal’s first outing for a live action movie.
