Natalie Wood, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and Academy Award winner Karl Malden star in the story of an Air Force sergeant struggling with a choice to reenlist, the hot-headed young pilot who's in love with his daughter--and the most fearsome weapon of their time in Bombers B-52. Sergeant Chuck Brennan (Malden) is tempted to accept a much-better paying civilian job and must face the insolent young colonel, Jim Herlihy (Zimbalist Jr.) who's pursuing his daughter, Edith (Wood). But a dangerous test-flight to Africa of the new B-52 changes Brennan's mind about both Herlihy and his career in the Air Force, as Herlihy decides to stay to perfect this amazing flying weapon of war.
