This was very entertaining, and is very much a simpler to swallow Sean of the Dead in many ways. The plot is new and unpredictable in almost every way. The leading actress is a gorgeous hybrid of Lake Bell and Cameron Diaz.
  • 'The Boy' did this right, hint 'Not Scary'

In the vein of 'People Under the Stairs' and more recent 'The Boy' with the latter being actually terrifying, 'Housebound' tried to do a twist without actually being scary or innovative. If you're not easy to scare like myself, this movie is more amusing and the plot is easy to figure out more than anything else. The writers are not concerned about what real roles legal professionals are suppose to be playing (i.e. not aiding the legally house bound convict in illegal activities) and the writers are even less worried about making their therapist appear inept in throwing around psychological diagnoses (ex:(s) dissociative identity disorder and bipolar disorder) much less distinguishing or recognizing their responsibility to explain the appropriate differences between the two to the audience. In sum, 'Housebound' is not scary nor should it be taken seriously because the writers obviously don't, they are more concerned with entertaining without disseminating knowledge. If you want to actually feel your spine chill, rent 'The Boy', they did what 'Housebound' tried to do here, only right.
  • Worst film of the genre.

Simply the worst film I have ever seen. Total garbage, from score to shot composition, story, and some just atrocious acting. I want two hours of my life back. A terrible, terrible rip off of “The People Under The Stairs”, “Beetlejuice”, “The Boy” and countless other better films. An absolute travesty at 97% on rotten tomatoes.

I can honestly say this is one of, if not my favourite movie of all time. I laughed from start to finish. What a cast and what a truly talented director. I have watched it so many times and it still cracks me up. Morgana O’Reilly is just perfect as the lead. There are so many memorable lines you will throw around after it. I got my family and friends to watch it and they all loved it, I don’t think there will be many that won’t fall for its charms.
  • Is on Netflix for free!

Everything you want in a haunting mystery with deftly scripted comedic relief. This one is a fun ride.

Strong cast all the way around, and Morgana O’Reilly is special!!! So many funny bits, and some genuinely scary stuff too! I thoroughly enjoyed it! There could be a really great sequel to this, I’d love to see more of these characters. Morgana O’Reilly has done one hell of a great, tough, and feisty job. Thanks!
