  • Even better than theatric release

Kingdom of Heaven is one of my all-time favorites and I was very happy to see this Director’s Cut. It has been a while since I watched the theatric release but I don’t believe there are any additional action scenes (other than one short hero vs villain near the end but I won’t spoil further) if that’s what you are looking for, but the Director’s Cut includes quite a few of additional scenes focusing on character development and tying the storylines together. With these additions, the movie flows much more smoothly and does not have gaps leaving audience speculating. All in all a worthy purchase if you enjoyed the movie in the past but feel it was a rushed and unfinished product like I did.

Best version of this movie... only one to watch and buy. What a dramatic improvement on the otherwise good theatre version. GREAT!
  • An excellent movie if you opt for Director's Cut

After watching the full, rich Director's Cut of this same movie, the Theatrical Version now seem like a lengthy trailer in comparison... So, I was excited at the prospect of watching the Theatrical Cut. Yet, the filmography, acting and story line left me feeling like I had just sat down to an incredible feast but only allowed to take a few bites. Now I know why I felt both inspired and unfulfilled at the same time. The Director's Cut is not just a "longer version" of the film, it is the full, rich story the Theatrical Version tried to impart. The theater version fell short due to Hollywood mandates and over-editing. If you loved crippled elements of the Theatrical Version, do your self a favor and watch the Director's Cut! It's practically an entirely different movie and well worth it!!
  • A Worthy Epic

This is one of the greatest cinematic epics of all time. The theatrical version is a waste of time.

A great tale for an epic movie.
  • Director’s Cut Only

The extra 50 minutes that make the director’s cut transform this from a mediocre husk of a film into a very worthy epic. Perhaps one of the best in the last 20 years. Avoid the theatrical cut at all costs.

Love, love, love this movie! When it came out & even now 11 years later! Great values, and definitely a movie I can enjoy with my teenage son!

And a testament to how studios and editing can ruin a film. Compare this to the theatrical version and the difference is stark. The theatrical edition has little character development and little emotion. This version is epic, romantic, and a truly inspiring piece of filmmaking.
  • Same cut as Director's cut with a musical intermission

First off, if you own the Director's cut this is the same movie. Only thing added was a musical intermission. However, it does contain some extras not included on just the Director's cut. It also contains the theatrical release. The theatrical release is junk. Although watching it would give an excellent example of how editing can absolutely ruin a movie. Secondly, the Director's cut is the ONLY version you should watch if you just want to see the movie or if you thought the movie wasn't that good. The difference is extreme.
