Description

OUTLANDER spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history and adventure as it follows Claire Randall, a married WWII combat nurse who mistakenly falls back in time to 1743. As the season continues, Claire and Jamie’s relationship is tested and Claire must reconcile her modern mindset with this 18th century world. Ruthless redcoats, volatile clan politics and a brutal witch trial force Jamie and Claire to escape to a new home. Just when their life as a married couple begins to take shape, Jamie is once again drawn into Captain Randall’s darkness. Ultimately, Claire discovers there is a fate worse than death as she struggles to save Jamie’s heart, as well as his soul.

The show is over on Starz, and Season 3 has been available for months on iTunes Australia and ITunes Canada. Do I have to move to Canada to buy it??????

a great season. I just wish they could fix it so the episode weren't mixed up in my TV Show Library. Like episode 1 is called #1 and episode 8 is called #1 so u can't watch them by jumping to the next episode without closing.
  • good but there’s a problem in inaccuracies

Great soundtrack throughout, sublime scenery and great mood including several very funny moments. However, Claire’s medical knowledge far exceeds that of any general practitioner physician, even though she’s only a nurse from 1945. Her knowledge includes Internal Medicine, Traumatology, Obstetrics, AND Physical Therapy. That’s one Physician, two Surgeons and one Physical Therapist merged into one person, who again, happens to be a nurse. My problem is: next thing you know, she’s gonna pop a cane and change her last name to House. If the writer wanted her to be so good in medicine, why not just make her a doctor instead of insisting on filling the series with things that just make you nod in disapproval concerning reality. Yes it’s sci-fi, but that doesn’t mean it happens in another universe where people like architects build spaceships and engineers draw buildings instead of it being the other way around. Episode 16 was just ridiculous in terms of writing and storytelling. Honestly, what is it with STARZ and homosexuality? Do they have to include it in each series they make? It has become a signature of theirs.

Ok, got it- a second set of episodes for the same season. I paid for the season once but I will pay again. The least you could do was number the episodes differently than the first set of episodes- or perhaps iTunes employees don't understand how iTunes works. Incompetent!

I was a fan of the books ( the audiobooks are great as well, the narrator Davina Porter is outstanding!) before the show so I knew what to expect from the series. The show is obviously done for cable and with that being said I don't get all the criticism in some of the reviews. The last two episodes were definitely hard to watch as they should be, it would be terrible if one was not affected due to the subject matter. The actors definitely did an awesome job, looking forward to them receiving awards in the future, as to why didn't they didn't win at the Golden Globes this year, I am stumped. Ron Moore, and company has done an awesome job bringing the books to life on the screen. Looking forward to season 2!

Love the books and the series so far; the rape stuff is definitely hard to get through like other commenters say. My problem is with the way the episodes and Season 1 Part 1 and Part 2 get messed up in iTunes. All the episodes become mixed together and you can't tell the chronological order anymore, despite the two parts being sold separately.

Absolutely disgusting! Zero redeeming value here. My wife and I found the first 8 episodes gripping and titillating, but the next 8 left us both feeling emotionally violated and mentally pained. So very disappointing.

As soon as you watch the first episode you'll get hooked. I didn't read the books but hey you don't have to. This show is all about the epic romance, mixed with science fiction, period piece, great drama, and some history. This is one of those shows that you won't get enough of, that you'll want to binge watch, which is how I watched it. A must see if you like Game of Thrones mixed with Downton Abbey. Great performances, great locations and a gripping story. The science fiction element makes it way more fun.
