the acting is so good it's very natural. the drama is intense and very human. why can't amercian tv be like this ?

This and season one of Happy Valley are one of the best British crime dramas I have ever seen. Sarah Lancashire is brilliant as the hard nosed, warm hearted police sergeant whose life is a day to day mess. Highly recommended!!

HIGHLY recommended. I love this show, and wish there were more seasons available. The stories are gripping, and the acting is first-rate. I want more Sara Lancashire--what a extraordinary actor! And the terrifying performance of James Norton is unforgetable.
