After watching the first two episodes, I'm left a little underwhelmed. The ideas are there but they fail to take them far enough in my opinion. And by that I mean - if you are immortal why not start the journey to the stars instead of potentially stagnating on the earth? If you are a digital human - you are now the AIs talked about in the first episode. And what better way to travel to the stars than being a digital being - and if they want to populate new worlds, bring embryos and either reinstert a part of your intelligence into them or manipulate their genes let them grow fully adapted to their new worlds. I hope they talk about this at some point - because humans as this series brings up are going to be god like. As for manipulating the human genome, hopefully they will engineer stupidity out of people. And of course all of this wonderful future depends on our surviving the forces being unleashed under an authoritarian president who supports destroying scientific research and critical thinking... which is the real unscience fiction we are living in now.
