Homestead Rescue, Season 2

"Do you want to see my resume?" Asks Marty Raaney, the Patriarch of the Extraordinary Trimuverate, He shows his Hands to the camera, which look like Tenderized Meat, that's spent far to long in a "Smoker", drying it out for far too long. There's Multiple Generations Of Knowledge in the Body those Hands are attached to, What I find so Interesting about the show, are the Shelters for Domesticated Animals that have either become Fast Food for the Carniverous Wild Life- Domesticated Dogs that become Ferral, Homes, made from Shipping Containers & Tiny Houses - that are Cooled & Heated by Nature, as is the Hot Water. What I Truly Extraordinary is how much Misty & Matt genuinely care about the "Why" or the Reasons that New Homesteaders "Can't" or "Won't" shoot a Gun or Rifle (In order to Eat Protein) or the fact that "Homesteaders who have 3-5 different Types of Domesticated Food Meat, but who're Broke, yet drive 2+ Hrs/Day to Buy Water & Meat, bc their "animals" are their pets! Misty & Matt are both really good Listeners & have the ability to encourage, nearly complete strangers to tell them that they're not comfortable around Guns bc their baby Brother was shot & died, 1 year later from the bullet wounds. What's Ab Fab about the show, is that when it works, you can literally see the light come on in people's eyes & this is such a rare phenomena, even in urban & suburban areas! I enjoy the Show for many reasons, amongst them is most of our belief-that when a disaster hits-we're ready. when the Truth of the matter is that the majority of us aren't even close to being ready & it seems more & more relevant with the severe changes in the Weather &b the damage & deaths it's increasingly causing. I also quite enjoy their capacity for turning "Junk" or Packaging Materials & OPG (Other People's Garbage) into Imperative Parts for Passive Solar Heating Systems. Though I'll never understand the logic of a Greenhouse needing 5 Dark Barrels as additional Methodology for Heat (Not Water) & a Couple only "Needing" 1 Passive Water Filled Dark Barrel for Bathing, Dishesor filling rubber bladders to warm the sheets on a cold winter night. Marty is a pisser too! Tough as nails on 1 hand & trip over his own Boots when a Pencil Sized Snake was startled as he was collecting the 3 Items necessary to make a Natural Water Filtration System. He then spoke about how the tiny Snake Attacked him, that it was 3 times Longer then it actually was & 20 times Thicker & Absolutely Vicious! However, we Lower 48er's would probably easily & feeling completely justified, make similar exagerations, if we rounded a corner & were met by a young Grizley & lived to tell about it. It's a Show about Courageous or Stupid People (Contingent on your frame of Reference), who sold & then walked away from 4 Bedroom Homres in the Suburbs in order to Trade that Lifestyle for 1 where they must shoot their Protein, Skin It, Butcher it & then Pewserve the Hide, using Water & the Brain of the Butchered Mamel. It's an Interesting Educational Show & a Show that follows 3 Members of the Raney Family, who were Raised, Homesteading in Alaska & follows them as they Travel to the Middle of Nowhere, throughout each Show. The only thing that each show has in Commnon, is that Every Single Person the Raney's get Involved with are at different Degrees of their Proximity to Geath's Door, which Family Member all the others are following to this Proximity and finally, they help Newbie Homesteaders who honestly thought that they could move into the middle of Nowhere & Survive bc they watched Internet Videos on How To Survive In The Middle Of Nowhere-Surrounded By Ravenous Carnevours, Without Having A Chainsaw & Without a Firearm (A Beebee Gun is Fine !)..
