If you liked the novel or the movie -- or the Coens, Tarantino, Soderbergh, etc, etc -- try this series. Even with all its predecessors showing, it works. The writing keeps a lot of balls in the air and a lot of plates spinning without ever getting confused or murky. The acting is impeccable, all through the cast. It mashes a Tarantino-esque crime saga with a fun send-up of Hollywood. (Spoiler: I especially like that the movie they all labor so hard to make is so awful, and none of them seems to know it.) This is smart, slick, funny new-era tv.
