  • Barley a sequel

The art, writing, animation, almost everything about this show is made by people who don’t understand the original. It’s pretty bad on it’s own and even worse trying to be a sequel. There’s nothing special about it. If you love the original you will not like this.

I loved watching progressive. Many felt it didn't live up to the hype of the original and it shouldn't because progressive it's own show that establishes it's own story. best watched in one setting rather than spaced out too. I love the characters and story established in this new season and can't wait to see what alternative brings.

Though I see a drastic change in art style, at least in my eyes, I believe FLCL Season 2 benefits from its new animation, which I find absolutely STELLER!!! With out a doubt, this is one of my favorite tv shows to come out of summer of this year! It’s funny, it’s full of action comedy and adventure and just sheer randomness! Literally, I don’t know what I’m watching half of the time, but whatever it is I’m liking it! I’m sure the Japanese voice actors are amazing, and I’d love to hear them play the roles of these characters when it is available in English sub. Right now, I especially appreciate the commitment the voice actors have put into portraying these characters. The English voice actor for Haruko, Kari Walgren, I especially like. She gives the character such feel, such motivation and drive with the way she powers her voice and such! Even after all these years she’s apparently spent away from the character, she’s still sounds much like she did when she first dubbed her. I hope she gets more prominent roles as she moves on with her career in the future. That aside, so far I’m loving this new adaptation just as much as I loved the first season of FLCL. Production I.G. is making a good series that is horribly underrated. If you have the time, please do support the official release of the first FLCL, I know maybe many might find it as an acquired taste but go ahead and give it a try. Experimenting your taste for traditional animation and watching a wacky/adult animated show is very fun if you give it a chance. And besides, anyone who reads this review all the way through is probably someone who is interested. Give it a try, and support FLCL: Progressive on Toonami and let’s see where this new series goes. - made 6/20/18

audio and visual quality dropped tremendously after first episode, just lazy animation. I expected that due to the low episode count we would see consistent high quality but it looks like thats just not the case. first eipisode had alot of effort put into it but like all projects Adult Swim touches the budget starts to show very quickly and apparently it wasn't that high.

This is beyond a long awaited sequel to FLCL. The original is imo one of the most enjoyable stories, animation, and sound tracks out there. So they have a lot to live up to. From what I see they are doing it right. The pillows are back, the voices are right, and the animation is both true to the original yet improved. Gets me right in the warm and fuzzies.

The art and music have stepped up. Can’t wait for the story to flesh out but the first episode alone was just awesome to watch!
