Sailor Moon Sailor Stars (English) Season 5 Volume 2

First of all, as somebody who watched pirated VHS subs (from Laserdiscs, no joke!) of Sailor Stars in the late 90’s, this has MAJOR nostalgia factor going for it. Also, while this season particularly is even MORE different (and a little inferior to its manga source material IMO), it’s still one of my favorite two arcs of the original Sailor Moon’s final season (kicking off with the anime-only Nehelenia-arc where the Dark Moon Queen herself becomes a mere chess-piece in a much bigger conflict). It looks gorgeous in HD. The transformations! This updated/unabridged Viz dub is wonderful, with a great cast and solid translation. In episode 2, little Hotaru shouts “Daddy Haruka” and it really hit home how far we’ve come from the heavily censored original English dub (which also had wonderful voice actors, who also sang some killer songs!). It has a great sound-mix as well, with the original music sounding crystal clear. BUT here is the problem. The two halves of the season on iTunes are mis-numbered, with part two starting over rather than continuing the numbered order started in part 1. However, the two parts are blended into one “season 5” item in iTunes as well, so basically you get two episode 1’s, etc that conpletely eff up the watching order. It is a HOT MESS. Sailor Saturn would fix this ish real fast. Making it worse for some like me, who cherry picked episodes from part 1 and part 2 (to save about $20 bucks and cut out some filler episodes that I’ll never watch), the blending of parts 1 and 2 after purchase has created a rediculous mish-mash of episode order. Pleeeeaaase fix the episode numbers for the part 2 episodes, or at least break the two parts up like they are on the iTunes store! Thank you, Sailor Darko

This is NOTHING like real anime

Even though I’m a white person, ITS REALLY RACIST, TOEI ANIMATION!!! But still, if you can fix that racist issue and PLEASE add black characters in Sailor Moon Eternal, I’ll be happy. I still like the show though.

They didn’t put the episode numbers different between part one and two so when you try to watch in order you have to skip some of them so you don’t rewatch them

I watched the Japanese version subtitled a long time ago and decided to watch this dub. The dialogue sounds very natural and all the voice actors do really fine work. It’s uncut and they handle the more complex themes gracefully. The starlights transformation, Neptune-Uranus relationship, the violence/painful screaming etc, all makes this a fairly adult show and they didn’t gloss over anything or pull any punches. I was able to just go along for the ride - and it paid off - I laughed and cried at all the right parts. Amazed they pulled it off so well!!
