Description

The world at large believes Dexter Morgan died in a tragic boating accident, and in a way the world at large isn’t wrong. Far from the life he knew, living under a false name in the small town of Iron Lake, NY, he’s successfully tamped down his Dark Passenger for nearly 10 years. With a normal job and a Chief of Police girlfriend, it seems he’s got life under control – until his son shows up and turns his world upside down. Rattled, Dexter yields to his homicidal urges and soon finds himself on a collision course with a very dangerous local.

I was glad to see the series' opening season with Michael Hall as Dexter again, but the show was ultimately dominated by a character that, in my opinion, was the dearth of engagement. Kept hoping this character was a temporary plot device. Sadly, those hopes were dashed. The powers that be should re-write the nwe dull, sulking contrarian or get an actor that knows how to engage the audience within the limits of the script and direction. P.S. Dexter: New Blood is saddled with the same liability that’s also found in Blacklist with Megan Boone as foil to James Spader. If she drove you to distraction, expect something similar here.

Disappointed in this series totally not what I expected. I accepted the why it ended in the final session. And to kill dexter in the end is not worth it . They should started a new series instead of destroying dextor .
  • Finally the ending that was promised

Finally the show fulfilled all the promises they had in the show they disappointedly failed at. The last 4 seasons of the previous show were disappointing, unlike this show that has season 4 vibes. Thank god they brought Dex back to fix their wrongs and end it how they were supposed to years ago.

I was worried that this reboot would fall flat. Many do. But each episode just got better. Thanks for reminding me why I used to love this series… I hope we get a second season of New Blood.

For those of you who didn’t love the original series finale, then you might like this one. I do know that a lot of people were disappointed with New Blood’s ending but I think it was great and actually made a lot of sense. This is the most intense season of Dexter ever. It doesn’t start off that way but the season grows more intense as it goes along. The supporting cast is all great, especially Clancy Brown. It’s not my favorite season, though, and I did have a few problems with it. For one, I think it should have about two more episodes to it, to fill the story out a bit. Secondly, Debra, who play’s Dexter conscience, has never been so mean, having more in common with Jeff Lindsay’s the version of Debra in the books than the Debra we came to know and love in the series. Thirdly and most importantly, I began to not like Dexter towards the end. I don’t want to give away the ending...I am hoping those of you reading this have already seen it but for those who didn’t....let’s just say..... Actually, forget it, just watch it! As for the ending, I loved it and think it was a far better ending than Dexter becoming an unhappy lumberjack. It’s a sad ending but I think it made a lot of sense. To heck with those people who didn’t like it. I thought it was very powerful. There is talk of maybe another season. Well, I hope not. We don’t need another ending. And I don’t think the actor portraying Harrison is strong enough to carry a series by himself. Overall, I think this was a great season.
  • Epic ending

What an excellent job on connecting certain points of detail to the original storyline while driving the story forward in a new direction. The clever combination roll of Debra and Harry was the right touch. I also like how the writers incorporated Harrison into the group of new and developing characters. This new series is more of a slow burner than the previous one. There were certain things that didn’t quite fit - such as Angel Batista’s appearance. As shocking as the ending was, in the end it was inevitable. The Dark Passanger
