Description

A richly imagined and human sci-fi drama, set against the backdrop of interstellar colonization in the 26th century. After years of human civil war and growing political unrest, mankind's very future is threatened when our outermost colonies intrude upon the sacred worlds of the Covenant – a fanatical powerful alliance of alien species. As the Covenant destroys world after human world – only one soldier slows their advance – a cybernetically enhanced “Spartan” supersoldier, the Master Chief. But as the incredible mystery of the Covenant's true ambition, and the secrets of his own enigmatic past converge, then he will have to decide if humanity is a cause worth saving.

I don‘t get the bad reviews, this is one of the best SciFi shows I ever watched… 🤷🏻‍♂️
  • Offensively horrible

This show was horrible. Writers literally announced they purposely didn’t pay attention to the storyline of Halo, nor cared about adding to the universe. The result it this horrible show. Master Cheek’s face is revealed, which is a big “no-no” and so are his butt cheeks for some stupid reason. The acting is horrible. Writing is horrible. And so is the animation at times. Do not waste your time watching this garbage. Just please don’t.
  • A misunderstood show, but I get it :/

As a Halo fan since 2004, you start to question John, his suit, his human side, and why he wears the helmet all the time. They explain here why he doesn't take off his helmet but you'll have to deal with a different take, this Halo doesn't fully follow the games and that's fine by me but I'm pretty sure some might be concerned. The final episode of season 1 was phenomenal just like the games, but I have to admit the middle act was a bit hard to follow. Beautiful cinematography, the effects were top notch and the cast did a great job.

Hubby has played every Halo game. I’ve played none of them. We both loved this show. Give it a chance. It’s a great story with some fabulous acting.
  • Coming from a Halo fan, I like it!

As a fan of the Halo games, I was really impressed with the quality of the production of the series and Pablo Schreiber does a great job as Master Chief.

To preface this, I haven’t watched the full series. I could only get through the first couple episodes. If you are a Halo fan this is not for you. In the first episode John takes his helmet off and it pretty much stays off for good. This sounds ridiculous I know. As a Halo fan, John rarely takes his helmet off. It allows players to imagine as if they were him, but there’s another aspect that Halo 4 kinda played with a little bit. John never taking his helmet off is symbolic of who he is. War is all he’s ever known, and he’s borderline robotic about it. The first Halo game even described him as a cyborg (technically he was altered through scientific means in the books). This would’ve been amazing to build on. First showing is how robotic and desensitized he is to War, but then showing his humanity. Growing him as a character while showing his past and what he endured, and telling a compelling story that makes the viewer want to continue to watch. This is none of that. It’s so generic and such a letdown. You can tell the writers care more about making a show that appeals to everyone while removing anything that would make it unique and make the viewer want to stick around. Please don’t watch this. It’s a huge letdown as a Halo fan, but it’s also a letdown as a sci-fi fan.
