Description

From critically acclaimed filmmakers Sam Raimi and Rob Taper, Xena: Warrior Princess is set in the "golden age" of myth. The whims of capricious gods and the greed of human tyrants make her world a treacherous one. Pursued by the evil warlord Draco, Xena travels from town to town and battle to battle as she invariably finds herself caught between the innocent and the forces of darkness. Along the way she meets a high-spirited young woman named Gabrielle, whose fiery tongue and quick wit make her a worthy cohort, and together they travel and work to create a land that is free from tyranny and injustice. The statuesque and leather-clad Xena was first introduced in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Acting- Exceptional Directing- Brilliant Plot line- engaging Fight sequences- okay Sy fy action- rip roaring fun Humor- highly amusing I recommend this show!!!!!!

I watched the first couple of seasons loosely as a kid, but I do remember that I enjoyed them immensely. Now, as an adult, I am watching the first season and enjoying it still. Is it historically accurate -- no. Are the fight sequences well-choreographed -- no. I could go on and on about its faults. There are two aspects of the show that make it enjoyable -- humor and characters. Gabrielle is the perfect comedic foil to Xena:Warrior Princess. Gabrielle and Xena are well-developed characters. This a female driven dramedy in which the two heroines set out to right wrongs and problem solve for others, and I appreciate that.

Amazing show! Original and beautiful story. If iTunes were to get the next few seasons so many people (especially me) would be so grateful and ecstatic. I'll say a prayer that the rest of the series is up soon! God Bless!

Xena was the pioneer of female hero that were not overly done-up. Xena gave way to Buffy, charmed etc. Give this show a chance, it gets better season after season!
