Daren Mc Gavin as Kolchak, is the original intrepid, bungling, wise cracking monster hunter. The show is great fun to watch even though it shows its age a little with less than stellar special effects and a few sizable plot holes. In spite of these minor shortcomings it is a true classic with plenty of genuinely scary moments. Highly recommended.

Apple, you finally uploaded an awesome series. Congratulations to the Kolchak the Night Stalker writers because they started the X-Files. Congratulations Apple for uploading this classic series. For all those who are wondering, yes. It was made in the seventies, but at least it had a set of good stories. OK? Good. {PS: Don't go for that other Kolchak series...........yech.}
Wonderful cult sci-fi/horror show

The great Darren Mcgavin headlines as the intrepid investigative reporter Carl Kolchak, a newshound who always winds up with more than he bargained for! Playing a reporter who winds up investigating paranormal and mysterious happenings in Chicago, much to the chagrin of his (usually) angry, but heart of gold boss Tony Vincenzo (Simon Oakland) The series was on network TV for only a year, but became a cult classic. Preceded by two very well done TV movies, Kolchak:The Night Stalker has some excellent episodes. My favorite 'Horror in the Heights' is a classic. All in all worth a look if you're a Twilight Zone/Night Gallery buff like myself!
