This documentary has taught me so much about the history and culture that is possessed in black college basketball. I am excited that someone has finally decided to bring something thought provoking to television. I myself am an alumni of a HBCU (WSSU) and this program has truly captured the essence and spirit of black college basketball. I hope everyone that watches the movie receives a better understanding of what black college athletes had to endure in order for the younger generation to have an opportunity to play basketball. This movie has accomplished the task of solidifying the legacy of many black college basketball players. Keep playing, keep coaching, keep learning... "Enter to Learn, depart to serve".

I was pleasantly surprised by how entertaining and enligtening this ESPN series turned out to be. They do a brilliant job at telling the history of black athletes in the rise of basketball against the backdrop of a changing America. We're at that special time in history in which enough of the early pioneers are still with us to share their memories and perspectives. We've been waiting for a long time for the third episode, I hope it comes soon. This is sort of done in a Ken Burns-like fashion so it may take you more than one seating to get through it, but stick with it, may 30 mins at a time, great stuff. Enjoy.
  • A powerful, well-produced documentary

This is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen-it noy only goes in-depth into basketball history but also the civil rights movement and related topics. The interviews and classic basketball footage only help to add to the experience. The only complaint I had was the video quality was a little on the bad side but don't let that stop you from buying this. It's a must-see for all basketball fans and history buffs.

The fear of some can't hide the truth of others. Nice job, ESPN. This is just shining the light on something that is only the tip of the iceberg. I knew this was a must have after seeing it. I didn't think it would be this quick. Nice job, Itunes.
