Description

The heat is on in Baltimore. The drug war is being lost, bodies are piling up, and a desperate mayor wants the tide turned before the election. But the police department hasn't got any answers. Wiretaps haven’t worked. Neither have stakeouts or street busts. With the demolition of the Franklin Terrace towers, Stringer Bell and the Barksdale crew have been forced to improvise. But no matter how hard McNulty and the detail try, the dealers always seem to be one step ahead of the game. It’s time to change the rules. A new story begins in Season 3 of the acclaimed HBO drama series that focuses on the vagaries of crime, law enforcement, and politics in Baltimore, MD. As told from the points of view of both the police and their targets, The Wire captures a universe of subterfuge and surveillance, where easy distinctions between good and evil, and crime and punishment, are challenged at every turn.

I was going to download this show as I watched the first season and it is very good, but why is not not in HD on iTunes? Looks like Blu-Ray is the best way to go….

All I can say is that the show has ruined me for all other TV crime shows that attempt to depict urban life. I bought all 5 seasons, and I'm on season 3 the second go-round, and I'm uncovering an entirely new layer. It's real, it's human, it's hard to watch at times, and it is fantastic.

this season was great and it brilliantly gave a stark reminder of how cruel life can be andt it showed (in stringer bells plot) that all the dirt you do will come back 2 haunt you this was the funniest season and filled with irony and novelistic genious

Wonderful program...just finished the second season. Since I began watching the show, they've doubled the cost of a seasons entertainment. Consistency is a virtue. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Won't let me download the season? Only individual episodes. Anyone else getting this? Love the show but this is annoying and way more money than buying the season

Dont get me wrong, its a perfect show, byt I paid full price for this and now its $13.00 a season? Itunes this is the last time you do this to me with your evil price drops.I think those of us who recently paid full price should be refunded the difference.Just my opinion.I mean just a few days ago I paid $2.00 an episode.Very good show though, well done...

One of the best seasons also. Between either season 3 or 4 you can't loose but see the entire series. You will be without a doubt blown away. If you have never seen this show trust me once you do you probably will never see such production value ever again on tv. Once in a lifetime type show.

Thanks to so many reviews for season one of "The Wire" I decided to give it a shot. I am a bit embarrassed to admit that I had never seen the show prior to my download of Season 1 on iTunes a few weeks ago. While it took me a few episodes to get involved in the show, it soon made me a participant. The characters, their sometimes quirky, sometimes destructive relationships with one another took time to form--or should I write, to age. Unlike many shows that attempt to chronicle the environment of inner-city life, The Wire stands apart because they took their time. Their characters were not rushed, their motives not exposed too soon, their faults not always black and white. Now I am into Season 3 and I am savoring every episode. I know I cannot convince anyone of this show's worth. In order to determine worth, one must watch. But if you are so inclined, download a few seasons (don't bother trying to watch a few episodes--it just won't work) and sit back. There isn't a single aspect of this show that isn't masterfully done. The writing, the casting, the directing, and the acting are all superb, and for all the right reasons. If you think this review is hype, if you don't think this show is as good as I've indicated--you are probably right. It's far, far better. TV does not get any better than The Wire.
