Description

For thousands of years, people all over the world have found themselves with one problem in common: the need for fast cash. Long before banks, ATMs, and check-cashing services, pawnbrokers have provided monetary loans in exchange for personal items of value, and are still helping people make ends meet today - while bringing in a sizable profit for themselves. See the fascinating past and present of the pawning business on Pawn Stars, an inside look at the only family-run pawn shop in Las Vegas, where three generations of men - grandfather, father, and son - use their sharp-eyed skills to assess the value of items ranging from the obscure to the historic. There isn't much the Harrison family hasn't seen or heard, making Richard, Rick, and Corey experts in the rare collectibles - and negotiating. Each episode of Pawn Stars features an array of quirky characters attempting to sell, purchase or pawn items that the Harrisons must carefully appraise, and determine if they're real or fake before revealing the often surprising answer to "What's it worth?"

Idk whos idea it was to start a show about transactions in a Pawn shop but it was really brillant. I can remember seeing the Antique Roadshow all the time on my tv before we had Dish. I have to tell you it was very boring even now I still find it boring. But this is like an amped up more interesting version of that. I mean this show has heart and jokes and just everything that you could ask for in a reality tv show. And they have actual people other than just experts on old junk and scraps of paper. And not only do they have the same people every episode but these people are actually hilarious and have personality. I mean you have the old man who you just love to see him pissed off. And then you have Rick one of the heads of the business who knows how to negociate. Then you have Big Hoss who buys the most ridickulous things that you know will tick off Rick. And of course you have everybody's favorite Chum Lee who almost seems like a cartoon character himself. And not only is the reality legit and funny it also has historical facts and very interesting artifacts.

WOW! Is just one word out of a thousand that describes this show. It showing the world what kinds of things that history has. But it is also showing us that there are still thousands yet millions of things undiscovered. This has history to itself and to its customers at the shop. Nice work!

I got the Chum Lee "AWESOME" shirt from the History Channel shop. Thanks for putting your head on a shirt, Austin. People love it. Is this season already over? I keep watching Monday nights and it's just reruns. Don't get me wrong, I could watch reruns over and over, but I can't get enough of this show. Keep up the great work, guys... And cut Corey some slack :) what ever happened to that hot air balloon?? When are we going to meet the "Old Lady" and Rick's wife? Is Rick (restoration guy) going to get a spin off? He is very carismatic and would do well. If not, bring him in more. LOVE THIS SHOW!

This show is so great, I think it could even turn Chumley into a sex symbol. Why have we never seen "Grandmom" Harrison? The Old Man, Rick and Big Hoss have talked about her on several episodes.
  • I wonder

According to a Las Vegas newspaper, this show is the highest rated ever on the History Channel. Yet it is buried down towards the bottom of page three here. I enjoy this show, but are we getting duped?

Old Man makes this show great. Dont get me wrong, I like the rest of the cast a lot, but the old man's wisdom makes for classic TV. Best reality show on TV right now! Get this
