Description

The fourth and final season of Star Trek: Enterprise helped bridge the gap between Enterprise and the future developments of Star Trek: The Original Series. Capt. Archer and his crew escape from an alternate timeline — the result of the continuing Temporal Cold War — in which the Nazis have invaded U.S. soil in 1944. In the normal Enterprise timeline, political upheavals have left relations between Vulcans, Andorians, Tellarites, and Humans in a state of near-disastrous chaos. The main story arcs for Season 4 include the trilogy ("Borderland," "Cold Station 12," and "The Augments") in which Dr. Arik Soong (played by Next Generation alumnus Brent Spiner) and his superhuman "Augments" chart a tragic course that would lead, in future generations, to the creation of Spiner's cybernetic NextGen character, Data. Another three-episode arc, "The Forge," "Awakening," and "Kir'Shara," returns T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) to her native Vulcan, where encounters with the legendary philosopher Surak and a zealous sect called the Syrannites lead to pivotal history with the Vulcan High Command. In subsequent episodes, Phlox (John Billingsley) discovers the reason why some Klingons lack "cranial ridges," and "In a Mirror, Darkly" marks an eventful return to the "Mirror Universe" from the original series episode "Mirror, Mirror" and the reappearance of the U.S.S. Defiant from the original series episode "The Tholian Web."

As Trek spinoffs go I like this much better than Deep Space Mall. I get all the reasons Trekkers hate on it, but I'm not a Trekker. I like that it's got more real, human characters and fewer goofy Neelix-Odo-Quark aliens. I like that they tried to show earth's lo-fi baby steps in the galaxy. I think T'Pol is the hottest space hottie of all the Star Trek space hotties. This fourth season, between the rocky two-part start and the awful insult of the final episode, contains some of the best episodes in the series. Like Firefly, though less so, I think it deserved a longer run.

I have the first two seasons in HD, so why are the 3rd & 4th only in SD? Love the series but won't purchase the remaining seasons until they are complete and in HD.
  • Where did season 4 HD go?

...more fail.. Fix it! You know what I mean. Okay, good job, you added episodes four and eighteen. Now that you have done so, sell this as a season, not by episode you greedy people.
  • Thought the season was now complete, but I was wrong.

I just noticed that while ITunes has finally posted the missing first parts of the two-parters, the final episode is now missing! I'm glad I downloaded it when I still could! So now I'm back to four stars again. What is the problem?? ----------- My earlier post from August 7th, 2011: Thanks for paying attention to the all the viewer comments like my earlier one (see below) and posting the missing episodes! I will download them right away. I'm also giving this season my final star! -------- My review from 2010: I love this "Enterprise" season that so neatly ties up all the loose ends leading up to the Federation and the time of Kirk and Spock. It is really frustrating, though, that ITunes left out "Storm Front, Part 1" and "In a Mirror Darkly, Part 1". That's what cost it my 5th star. What's the sense of releasing the second parts without the first? IMHO the mirror universe episodes are two of the most daring and original of any Star Trek shows, and "Stormfront" is lightyears ahead of TOS's "Patterns of Force" by anybody's book. Apple, Please complete the season, with the episodes in question marked "Explicit" if necessary, and let us viewers decide whether to buy them or not!
  • No HD for Season 4 and the final episode is missing!

I Bought the first three seasons in HD and then noticed the fourth was only available in SD and the final episode "These are the voyages" is missing for season four! What's the hold up?
