Description

DEXTER™ is back with an all-new season, and this time America's favorite serial killer has gone from freewheeling bachelor to responsible husband and doting dad. Maintaining an average-guy facade while satisfying his need to kill has never been easy. But now, with wife and kids in tow, Dexter's got more to lose then ever, as he gets drawn into a deadly game with a killer every bit as dangerous — and conflicted — as he is.

Season four of Dexter is a complete masterpiece. You must watch the first three seasons to maximize enjoyment, but it is oh so worth it. Too bad the show started to slip after this season.

It really shows how fantastic the writing is on Dexter that it actually gets better as the seasons go along. John Lithgow plays the Big Bad in this season, and he is one of the most spine-chilling villains I have ever seen. He's actually a more compelling villain than the Ice Truck Killer since we get to see him throughout the entire season and explore a lot more of his identity. Dexter becomes very intrigued by John Lithgow's character. This season also explores Dexter as a father and he has to balance work, his new marriage to Rita, and his - ahem - extracurricular activities (appeasing his Dark Passenger). Can Dexter have it all? Watch to find out!

The 6th episode on season 4 is titled "If I Had a Summer" on here in iTunes but that's wrong it's actually called "If I Had a Hammer" it says "Hammer" on my Directv,Boxset & Wikipedia!
  • Horrible Season

This is by far the worst season for Dexter. He had so many opportunities to end Arthur, but for some reason Dexter doesn't follow his own code anymore and it always comes back to haunt him. This season is so frustrating to put up with because Dexter doesn't listen to Harry at all. At least this is the last season we have to put up with that sunburnt slob Rita

I am now hooked on the series...owning all seasons 1-5.....I was really sad they killed off Julie Benz character.....Rita Bennett...that was the most surprising part of season 4. Great actors, chemistry, blood, misery, family bonding, comedy, sex appeal....yes it has everything; thats why its so appealing. I highly recommend watching all of the seasons..... Great job Showtime and the amazing cast and crew of Dexter....talented.....

Great season 1, season 2, but season 3 is like… let's sit around and fawn over Rita and the kids. How can anyone who loved the first two seasons love season 3? It's just "okay".
