Description

The 17 new cheftestants come face to face in the nation's capitol for the ultimate power play that will determine just who has the chops to become Top Chef. This season captures the varied tastes of Washington D.C. and features appearances by some of the town's top names including Apollo Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, White House chef Sam Kass, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, Congressman Aaron Schock of Illinois, Senator Mark Warner of Virginia, CIA Director Leon Panetta and NBC White House Correspondent Savannah Guthrie. The challenges featured will be some of the most creative and inventive yet: the chefs take over the concession stands at the Nationals stadium, go inside the CIA's closely guarded headquarters and literally receive out of this world direction on one challenge from a NASA astronaut orbiting Earth.

  • Extremely disappointing

As a Top Chef viewer from the very beginning, this season was extremely disappointing. The show is supposed to be about chef's and food, not about a political agenda and being in Washington DC is not an excuse. If Top Chef continues in this direction, they will certainly loose a loyal and passionate viewer.

Just charge $.99 cents for the extras... definetly "weak-sauce" - I'd like to be able to see the extra's w/o the stupid season pass... I love Top Chef, but definetly the most boring/stale season; so far. Hope Kelly wins. -4DX

I don't understand what Top Chef is doing. First, they make you purchase the episodes unlike every other show on TV. Next, the resolution is so small that it's basically impossible to see. What a rip-off. This will be the last time I ever watch Top Chef. Like everyone else, I think it's getting stale fast.
  • No Comparison

There is just no comparison to the Season 6 chefs. I really enjoyed watching their comaraderie and their cooking. This nonsense in Season 7 with Angelo and the "strategizing" turns it into a soap opera instead of the quality cooking competition it is meant to be. If I considered that kind of petty nonsense entertainment, then I would just watch "Survivor" or some other lame show. Last season they had extraordinary guest judges because this show garnered attention and respect from the culinary world as well as tv critics. They will quickly lose that credibility with these kinds of contestants. It's really not a competition between the chefs. All every one of them can do is his or her best and that is what they are judged on. I enjoyed Season 6 so much more because they respected one another's talents and allowed their cooking 'game' to be raised by their fellow 'competitors'. And yes - waiting for episodes that have already aired some time ago is extraordinarily frustrating when you can usually find episodes of other non-internet shows - even Showtime and HBO - on guerrilla sites a day or two after they've aired. What is with itunes?

I find the chefs on the new season to be extremely boring. Where are the Marcel's, etc.?? The new season needs someone like Emmanuel DelCour from Chef Academy. Then, I think I would be more interested in watching.
