Rizzoli & Isles, Season 1

Based on the best-selling crime novels by Tess Gerritsen, Angie Harmon (Law & Order) and Sasha Alexander (NCIS) star as Boston detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles, friends and crime-solvers who bust some of Boston's most notorious criminals. Having grown up at different ends of the economic spectrum, Rizzoli and Isles are still opposites in many ways. Rizzoli is uncompromising, brash and better at basketball than her brother, while the methodical and blunt Isles is always impeccably dressed and displays a steady, sometimes icy temperament. Together, they use their brilliant minds to figure out whodunit — and how — along with gruff detective Vince Korsak, Rizzoli's former partner who is a bit hurt that she has taken the green Barry Frost as her new partner, and Jane's younger brother, a Boston patrol officer who worships her and hopes to one day make detective. Lorraine Bracco (The Sopranos) also stars as Jane's caring, yet demanding and intrusive mother.
