Sailor Moon (English Dub), Season 1, Pt. 1

Where is the English version of sailor moon that we grew up watching? I didn’t not grow up with the characters names of none American.

The original English dub altered the original meaning of almost every line, had major aspects of the series censored, and completely changed the background music. This new dub stays true to the original intent of the show, and is very well acted. But nostalgia is a powerful thing and many people here cant get over the original voices they heard as a child. Ive seen this new dub, I highly HIGHLY recommend it. However, the one thing stopping me from buying it on iTunes is that Ive heard the episodes dont sort properly if you buy Parts 1 and 2. Apparently they merge completely out of order, due to the numbers in Part 2 beginning back at Episode 1. I hope they fix this issue.

This must mean we are stuck with the heavily edited version of the original anime 👎🏼

Why not make the sub and the whole series $4.99 each? You know you would rake in money. Please bring Yona back at $4.99, too!

Finally an English version true to the original— genderqueer, lesbians, magical gender swapping and all. The voice acting is miles ahead, and actually sounds like teenage girls instead of bad character acting British nannies. This Sailor Moon isn’t ruining you childhood. It’s the Sailor Moon you deserved when you were a kid, and the version I would give my kids.

It’s a good dub. It might not be what I grew up with, but at least this one has the actual plot of the series and doesn’t have a ton of scenes cut out of it. Superior to the original dub in every way!

The best anime in the world

I grew up watching Sailor Moon, it was my very first anime, and I fell in love with the show instantly. However, this is NOT it! I google searched and found out the ones who originally voiced these lovable characters were from the company DIC. The new dubbed voices are all horrible. I would have bought every season if it was with the ORIGINAL voice actors from the 90’s. They were the ones who gave Serena, Damien, Molly, Luna, the sailors scouts and even the villains life. Unfortunately, DIC does not sell Sailor Moon Dubbed. I am truly broken up about this.

Now let me start by saying, YES, I jumped at the opportunity to watch sailor moon again, and have been slowly purchasing and, yes, ENJOYING the whole series....however as a 90s baby who rushed home from school every weekday to watch Sailormoon on Cartoon Network...it is SIMPLY NOT THE SAME WITHOUT THE CLASSIC 90s DIC AMERICAN SOUNDTRACK, ESPECIALLY THE THEME SONG. if you are a 90s baby like me, and think this is what your getting, PLEASE BE AWARE THIS IS NOT THE CASE. The voice actors have changed, and the soundtrack is the classic Japanese soundtrack...and honestly you may be disappointed at first, but if you truly love this series give it a chance, you’ll probably adjust to the changes like I did.
