Description

What happens when four legends of British stage and screen get together? Dame Maggie Smith, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Eileen Atkins, and Dame Joan Plowright are among the most celebrated actresses of our time, with scores of iconic performances, decades of wisdom, and innumerable Oscars, Tonys, Emmys, and BAFTAs between them. They are also longtime friends who hereby invite you to join them for a weekend in the country as they catch up with one another, reminisce, and share their candid, delightfully irreverent thoughts on everything from art to aging to love to a life lived in the spotlight. Bursting with devilish wit and whip-smart insights, Tea With The Dames is a remarkable opportunity to spend time in the company of four all-time greats—up close and unfiltered.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching these four very entertaining women interact with each other! They’re amazing at how they remember lines from films or shows of years gone by, the movie clips were great and better yet hearing about their memories!

I'm curious if this is not available for viewing in the U.S.? I was able to log on to my iTunes account and even able to click "rent" but then nothing happens. The "download" button does not function. Alas, I am disappointed as would LOVE to watch these stellar ladies have a blast together. This form requires me to rate the film but I haven't seen it so am just choosing the middle star in order to get this posted. If I ever wind up being able to watch I will come back and change my comment and rating accordingly.

I love these actresses, but this was a series of rambling anecdotes and inside jokes that was just NOT that compelling.
  • I do not think these ladies wanted ot be here....

this is a sort of all-over-the-place piece. Would have preferred interviews with any one at a time over this. Eileen Atkins most quiet but extraordinarily articulate, but when she did speak Maggie Smith glarerd at her... being Maggie Smith I suppose. All, CLEARLY, have led intersting lives but nothing here really give much insight - just pieces. Still, interesting to see them together - they are such different women. Dench and Atkins the real intuitive artists I believe; Smith and Plowright classicists. Would not watch again. Not a bad experience but does not necessarily show in best light. That said, no reason to expect these fine actors to have to be "on" all the time for a personal interview anyway....
