This is easily one of the worst movies in the franchise. The main issue with the movie to me is Laurie. She went from being a like able character in Zombie’s first Halloween to being completely annoying in every possible way. You’ll start to hope Myers will kill her off after she’s been on screen for a few minutes.

Hands down the worst film on the series, The only good thing about this film was Danielle Harris and Brad Dourif. Also, please change the poster art. That's the poster for the original 1981 Halloween 2, not Rob Zombie's Halloween 2.
  • Impressively worse than the remake

This was an absolutely dreadful sequel to a terrible remake of one of the greatest horror films of all time. Has a pretty solid opening 5-10 minutes, and then it’s all downhill from there. Awful acting. Horribly obnoxious lead actress. Lots of weird grunting from Michael. Then it manages to end on an incredibly lackluster finale. Director’s cut is basically just more of Laurie being even more obnoxious than the theatrical cut (did not think that was possible). Just go watch the original two Halloween films and pretend the Zombie versions don’t even exist. You’ll be better off that way.

It has its flaws but you gotta give RZ credit for the originality. Completely different from the endless clone-like sequels and at points a little too vicious but still enjoyable.

Okay, now I know EVERYONE is gonna hate on me for this opinion, but I don’t care. ‘Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2’ (2009) is SOO underrated to me. It feels so much more entertaining to watch than the first Rob Zombie Halloween film. Scout Taylor Compton is my crush 🥰 <3 and she does a PHENOMENAL job of acting and playing Laurie Stode, especially when she reads Sam Loomis’s novel and finds out that she is Michael Myer’s sister and finds Annie’s dead body on the floor. I mean I literally FELT her emotions and she was crying and screaming during the scenes in the movie when Michael Myers was chasing after her and haunting her. This film does a great job of exploring the madness of Laurie Strode and how that night effected her life and it will never truly be the same. I don’t think Loomis is completely unloveable like everyone says but he is out of character and he does become slightly unlikeable from time to time, but it doesn’t bother me too much. The extremely vulgar language used in the beginning and kinda throughout the first Rob Zombie film, is not completely there in this film and I feel like most people can get around it. The music, (even though it wasn’t the traditional Halloween score,) felt so creepy yet suspenseful. Michael Myers feels like a cold blooded monster in the film, the way he looks with his mask off when he’s walking around and the way he grunts. 😬 Also wearing the mask while he’s killing makes the mask more special to me. I never really had a problem with Michael Myer’s Ghost Mother. It felt really new and fresh for the series and it kept me on my seat till the end. I really love how there’s two endings to the film, the: ‘Unrated’ and ‘Theatrical’ ending. It’s like you can choose which one you like better. They both fit really well. 🎃
