The Little Prince

Read the book in French in HS; loved the spiritual messages and other lessons. When the movie came out, I was in college, and loved it even more--great music and choreography, although I never understood why they left out the most useful character from the book (I won't give that one away--you'll have to pay attention to the book and movie and figure it out yourself). I watch this with my kids and grandkids once in a while and everyone enjoys it--for days after, we go around singing, "I need air!" They don't make shows like this any more, to our great loss.

this is an amazing move but the sory is even better! we read this in fench one, 'on ne voit bein qu'avec le coeur. l'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.' i love this book!

tender and sweet; music is funny with legendary actors. my kids watched it over and over!

this movie is great it is soo cheesy but it adds to it even the corny music parts bob fosse oh my gawd he was amazing i recommend it if you like cheesy easy watching movies :o)

When I saw this on here I got ecstatic at first because my mother tookme to the movie theatre to watch this ( I was 4 or 5 years old) and I can still remember the vague things that have stuck in my head as a part of life; I remember the snake representing Satan? the fox turning into Gene Wilder, the planets being small then big....then I remember sadness... crying maybe? I have to see this again as an adult viewing it because all i feel from my remembrance is a sad void feeling like emptiness...I don't know /remember how this movie ends but maybe I'll look at it first before I sit down with my young son to experience it together. Maybe I ws wondering where this kid's parents were during the whole time... didn't they miss him? Why weren't they searching for him? Oh well!

I was forced to read this novel in one of my classes at school, and as soon as the teacher showed us the cover if the book, I immediatly wanted to drop out of the class because it looked so boring. Strangly though, as time went on, by just the third chapter, I was alredy in love with the book. The book's content just seemed so moving. Unfortunately, we didn't finish, so I went and bought the book to read by myself, which took me very little time since it is so short. After I finished, I was looking for an audiobook on iTunes for The Little Prince. That is when I first saw the movie. I had no idea that there was even a movie version of the story until then. I bought the movie, and started playing it on my computer. The movie was great! All of the details of the movie seemed so precise-it was just like the book. The message of the movie seemed just as strong, too. I think that this is a great story that everyone needs to see, no matter what age you are. This story really touched my heart.

I was expecting a great childrens' story, but my wife and I, and all four kids were bored to tears by this movie. No plot, no purpose, no story, no message. Completely pointless and useless, kind of like one of those dreams you know you had but can't remember. Not worth your time.

I was not at all impressed with the musical score. The music detracted from the childish innocence that is a modal theme in the story. I would NOT suggest a person sees this movie unless that person has read the story. The story is amazingly insightful and will quite possibly bring tears to your eyes. (that is, good tears... because you like it?) But the movie... Different tears. Something about the adults singing and dancing with the boy makes me want to point and shout, "Petofile!"

Could it be that the person who wrote the plot summary does not know the meaning of the word lugubrious?

I saw this movie musical when I was 9 and loved it. It’s based on the book “Le Petit Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, one of the greatest stories ever told for both young and old. The Little Prince contains an award winning musical score and outstanding performances by legendary actor Gene Wilder, Broadway legend Bob Fosse, and many others. Clever use of special effects enhance the experience as well. It’s heart warming and entertaining and I would encourage everyone to see it.
