Two for the Road

but struck out big....imo. The transitions are awful as this jumps all over the place and is often depressing and lacking. I wanted to enjoy the scenery as they traverse across France but it missed out on such potential and the relationship was also strained alot. The odd separation from the other American couple was odd an odd one too. Not one of Audrey's best and I knew I would only watch this one once.

This movie is definitely in my top 5 favorite Audrey Hepburn movies. I absolutely love the plot and Audrey & Albert were perfect for this film.

This is very definitely one of my all-time favorite films. It still makes me feel many emotions after watching many times over the past 40 years. Audrey Hepburn is wonderful!! Henry Mancini’s music is even better! I highly recommend it...

This was commercial cinema. Can you imagine something like this being mad now? With Jennifer Aniston or Jennifer Lopez and that pale guy( don't know his name) ? we have come a long way. Backwards!

I rented this movie, and when I told my mom, her response was, "stinky, stinky movie!" I chose to ignore that statement and to watch it anyways. I'm glad I did. I ended up really liking it. Director Stanley Donen made a movie that dispels the typical fairy tale-esque romances that were pretty much, more or less, the standard of the time. Because, when you think about it, real life doesn't happen that way. People in love in the real world have some kind of bumps along the way, and sometimes those bumps can be their undoing. What I like about this very 1960s movie is that not only does it make you think, but Mark and Joanna Wallace are real people. They confront their failures, infidelities, and the troubles that scar their relationship. Mark and Joanna are flawed. I'd rent this before I'd buy it, just in case. It is a movie most definitely worth watching but it is on the avant-garde side of things.

This movie was listed as 'romantic comedy', but we found it to be little of either! Slow, negative portrayal of marriage and just generally boring.

The story is touching, and has all the right ingredients for a romantic drama. And Audrey hepburn never dissapoints with her performance as a wife who is losing her husband, and then Albert Finney as a husband who has forgotten his first love. Its a great movie, give it a chance.

Saw this many times when it showed in theaters 40+ years ago. Still love it and the music is perfect. So glad Itunes has it available !

A wonderful film with very artistic elements (experimental for its time) and an interesting storyline. Worth renting!

They hightailed out of this one! Barbie should see this movie. But Barbie can't act like this, and yes, the acting showcased her versatility. I don't know what you call this genre, the way the pretty music and scenery and her 60's girl vacation wardrobe contrasted with the realism, reminded me of some old Eric Rohmer movies, but his are easier to take. The flashbacks ended up stringing like plotless vignettes with one theme: The Boulevard of Broken Dreams, that I only know from Galen's sermon. Girl gets guy because he can't find his passport. Good color photography.
