Don't listen to the "Anime Snobs". This is a stylish, wonderful movie. I really enjoyed it!

This is a visually appealing action sci-fi, that is bound to trigger 90s nostalgia, as it gives the decade quite the nod in its stylized aesthetic. The film touches on big topics in a superficial manner, where any social criticism seems to be merely an excuse for the action sequences. That being said, it has the potential of turning into a guilty pleasure. It is certainly neither the Matrix, nor the Stalker, but there is enjoyment to be had.
  • Boring and poorly made

Poor script, pretentious acting, unlikable characters, unremarkable action scenes and dull production values. Skip it.

I liked this movie as much as the reviewers hated it. Nothing wrong with eye candy and escapism. The reason movies exist.

The preview for this movie on iTunes doesn't do it justice. The Rotten Tomatoes' review are way off. Rent it if you like Sci-fi movies or Aeon Flux. Well don't and doesn't deserve the bad critic reviews.

I am a huge fan of the series, originally airing on Liquid Television on Mtv back in the day. Chungs animations are so fluid and and incredible they stand out as original from standard anime or western cartoons. This movie did not reflect what Chung created. Aside from the namesakes it was simply a sic-fi movie based loosely on the actual Aeon Flux story development. I don't think they did a bad job on the casting though. Most of the people in the film fit their roles well. Its just…..it wasn't really Aeon Flux.
