Description

Dennis Peck knows his way around the law. He can launder money, run a scam, fix a bad rap. He can even, for the right price, arrange a murder. "Trust me," he says, "I'm a cop." Richard Gere is Peck and Andy Garcia is Raymond Avila, the investigator determined to bring Peck to justice in this supercharged police thriller. Peck isn't going down without a fight. The slick, cold-blooded manipulator intends to take Avila's career, his marriage, even his sanity with him in Internal Affairs. "A fine tight script," says Gary Franklin (KABC-TV). "Two thumbs up!" say Siskel & Ebert.

  • On par with Basic Instinct and Fatal Attraction

This is a thriller that can best be compared to such films as Fatal Attraction and Basic Instinct. It is carefully paced, interspersed with scenes that are extremely intense and it gets under your skin. Richard Gere plays against type and provides one of the most convincing portrayals of evil ever. Andy Garcia is equally intense and the conflict between the two turned into a genuine conflict on set. This definitely makes it into the film. This is clearly director Mike Figgis' master work.

I didn't think I would like this movie, but I did. The Price was right, so I got it. It kept my interest the whole way through, do I "like" Peck (richard gere) do I "hate" Peck was the question throughout. Great job by all actors. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. Movies are just not the same anymore, all cookie cutter. I absolutely LOVED this.

You can't beat the price. Richard Gere is an evil beast in this one, and that may be partly due to me being glad he's not playing some guy who's supposed to be a stud (ie. American Gigilo) with his beady, squinty little eyes and huge nose, with absolutely no physique to brag about. anyway Andy Garcia pulls off the jealous/angry husband role excellently and the story as well as characters are appealing and engrossing. A classic

This taut police thriller kept me on the edge of my seat. The well developed characters, especially Richard Gere's and Andy Garcia's, seem very human and make this film a standout. I saw the movie recently and keep thinking about the characters. Perhaps this quality of thinking about a work long after experiencing it is part of what separates art and entertainment.

Forget about cop movies with departed people that think they own the night, INTERNAL AFFAIRS is one great cop drama, it's very under rated, but this movie will blow you away!!!
