Amazing Grace

I love this movie because of the story of the the song amazing grace and of how William willberforce did not give up on getting rid of the British slave trade and of how he was friends with John Newton who wrote amazing grace and it show the horrors of slavery.

Great movie + book!! We watched it in one of my classes, and I ❤️❤️❤️ it!! Anybody that loves history will love this movie!! Read the book too!!👍😉

amazing screenplay movie cinematography -- would luv to see more movies like this; regal thespians cast members; whaat an assembly also, illuminatingly enchanting heartfelt passionate performance by Ioan Gruffudd; elegant play by Benedict Cumberbatch;

This film is so beautifully written and acted and has quickly become a favorite of mine. As a Christian I viewed this movie through Christian lenses and just love how William Wilberforce and his friends were faithful to the Lord's calling on their life. Christ died for us and the least we can do is serve Him. That is what Wilberforce did; he served the Lord by serving others and fighting for the oppressed and is a tremendous example of what we can and should do. Thomas Clarkson- "Mr. Wilberforce, we understand you are having problems choosing whether to do the work of God or the work of a political activist. " Hanna Moore- "We humbly suggest that you can do both."

As a history fanatic, I was particularly taken with this movie. It was a wonderful, moving way to pay tribute to William Wilberforce and his contributions to society.

Black People who are still blaming whites in the USA for the Slave Trade can get a glimpse of the TRUTH. Whites who have been accepting the responsibility for the Slave Trade MUST SEE this accurate historical depiction of how a WHITE fought for over five years of his life for the British Empire to STOP Slavery! At the time the story in this movie took place, AMERICA was under the control of the British Empire. I am a White and applaud the efforts of people of all colors who make an effort to stop Racial Injustice everywhere.

Is this a great movie? Yes. A beautiful movie? Certainly. A well acted and directed movie? Absolutely. An appropriate tribute to one of the greatest (and least known, today anyway) figures of modern times? Without a doubt. But it is also one of the most inspiring stories ever put on screen. One dedicated determined man, supported by a phenomenal wife, builds a group, then a following, then a mass-movement to eliminate the trans-Atlantic slave trade and ultimately slavery itself throughout most of the world. Not by force and slaughter as in America; but by reason and persuasion and compassion. And the best part is, it's all true. Indeed, it barely scratches the surface of this amazing life.

Awsome movie, and great cast.

This is probably one of the best "Christian" movies I have ever seen.

Every time I sing "Amazing Grace" now, I am reminded of the story behind it. This movie made a big impact on me, and it will on you, too!
