Description

Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman (Best Actress in a leading role, The Hours, 2002) and wickedly funny Will Ferrell star as actors playing Darrin and Samantha on a remake of the television show "Bewitched"in this cleverly crafty comedy from director Nora Ephron (Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail). Egomaniacal star Jack Wyatt (Ferrell) casts unknown Isabel (Kidman) as his co-star in order to monopolize the limelight and regain his top spot on Hollywood's A-list. When Isabel, a real witch, discovers Jack's self-centered scheme, she conjures a sidesplitting spell the mere mortal will never forget!

This could have been a great movie. However, ALL attention was on Will Ferrell and his one dimensional acting. If the rest of the cast had been allowed to shine, it would have been hilarious. Shirley MacLaine would have been fantastic as Endora; only if she'd been allowed to let loose. As others have said, buy the TV series instead.

Bewitched has a few good moments, but generally misses the mark. I liked Nicole Kidman very much as Samantha; rather than try to be Elizabeth Montgomery, she brought her own freshness to the character. Will Ferrell, however, is badly miscast. As played by Dick York, Darren was the straight man, which gave Samantha someone to play off of. In this version, Darren hogs the screen to the point of obscuring his leading lady. Jim Carey would have been infinitely better.

I know this movie is somewhat cheesy but I really like it for some reason, I don't know why.

An all-star cast revisits an American afternoon classic! Ferrell and Kidman make magic in this light hearted comedy that pairs the buffoonish and fun Ferrell as Darin with the lithe and lovely Samantha played to and innocent sweet confection by Kidman. Shirley MacLaine and Michael Caine Bring their own practiced brand of froth and finesse to the fun. A lovely little movie with laughs and a happy ending. Start the popcorn- Lets watch it again and try to remember who the original actors were!

This movie is disgraceful to the tv show bewitched. This is a mockery. It was one of the worst movies I ever saw. I know what I'm talking about because I've seen the tv show many times and its way different. Do not buy this. Take the advice of someone who knows what their talking about!

Ferrell no the story line no also. Kidman YES!!! Bewitched the TV show is my favorite show and I was really looking forward to this show. I would have thought it would focus on the lives of the characters. maybe how they get along in today's world. How Samantha copes with her powers in todays world. We might would have liked to see the kids (tabitha and Adam) in college by now??? I was very disappointed with this story line and only say it once. I did however like the soundtrack that came out of it. Skip the movie and get the soundtrack…...
