Description

The first human expedition to Venus returns to Earth in a crash landing off the coast of Italy. The only survivor is Hopper and he's frightened that he may have lost a canister holding specimens of Venusian life. 20 Million Miles to Earth is Ray Harryhausen's signature special effects story of a terrifying monster from Venus running wild and wreaking havoc in Italy.

This movies special effects from RH once again, very good. The dialogue went well with the plot and the idea of the monster growing over time is actually quite fascinating to me. 5/5

One of Ray Harryhausen's ABSOLUTE BEST! The Venusian creature, termed an 'ymir' ( pronounced EE-mare ), wreaks havoc in Rome, Italy after the Earth's atmosphere and a strange, consumate addiction for sulphur cause its cell structure to rapidly replicate, doubling its size with every passing hour! Watch for the titanic clash between Harryhausen's animated pachyderm and the reptilian beast, not to mention the iconic 'last stand' of the ymir atop the ruins of Rome's ancient Colisseum! An unforgettable 1950's sci-fi gem from the MASTER of stop-motion animation!! One of my favorite films!!!!

This monster movie is another classic that I remember from my childhood. This monster is interesting because it kept growing in size due to the Earh's atmosphere and fed off of sulphur (did I spell that element right?). The story works and it was awesome! Check it out!
