This movie was an amazing movie to rent! This year in school, my reading class read the book and we are supposed to watch the movie tomorrow. Me and my best friend watched it October 10 and freaked out because we shipped Lina and Doon. I don’t understand why people didn’t like this movie.

I don't know why I like this movie so much. It's a kids movie and I'm sure I'm not its intended audience - but it's so great all the same. I love the atmosphere and pacing and character interactions. Dunno, I just like it.

It’s an awesome movie, just it could have been better. Everting went by way to quickly. The grandma died 15 minutes later basically. It was almost like the book but really different but I do love this movie sad that they just left the instructions for the people and they be happy

Absolute disgrace to mankind and all of its people. I’d rather drink the water out of a toilet that is covered with crap and diseased pee. Literally this is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. The actors are good and all but their characters are horrible. Don’t watch this movie I about died. I’m going you a favor you will thank me one day.

When I first read the book, I absolutely loved it. The storyline was intriguing, the characters were well rounded, and the idea behind the plot was incredibly creative. After watching the movie, I felt as if it had only half of the creative energy the book showed. The story was still there, amazing as the book's (why wouldn't it be?), but there were so many missing elements that really would have made the movie be wonderful. The portayal of the characters through the acting and the script was mediocre at best, and the scene transitions and the high moments were honestly cringeworthy, as most of the moments felt comical. It lacked the ability to really grab me in. Nevertheless, the visuals and set design through the representation of the city and the components therein were very well shown, and definitely had that 'Wow!' factor invovled. While the acting could have been improved, the characters had their purpose and allowed the plot to move forward. In the end I give this movie 3/5, for the very nice visuals and ability to keep the plot forward, but nevertheless lacking good acting and having an overabundance of cheesy and comical moments.
