Description

Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon reentry over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear and half of Mexico was quarantined as an infected zone. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain “the creatures”... Our story begins when a U.S. journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through the infected zone to the safety of the U.S. border.

This movie is a love story. There is only one "monster". D movie at best. I wasted $10 on this movie.

This wasn't your standard monster or alien movie. This seemed to be more about ignorance, prejudice and actions being took to keep us safe that really only made us prisoners of our own fears. A giant wall on the Mexican border seperating us from our fears of murderous aliens. That feels very familiar, almost prescient for a movie made years ago. The aliens seem like they are just trying to survive, mate, produce offspring and find companionship. It's a deep movie that tells more about the darkness and goodness of humans then the actual aliens.
  • Looser meets socialite...love ensues…monsters…and the tiniest bit of philosophical irony. It’s OK.

WHY relase this AGAIN years (it is 2016) after its original release? Apple must be re-cycling anything they can re-sell. My original review is below_ This is not a bad film, and in fact I found it strangely a bit charming. It’s the old Boy (employed by rich father) meets girl (too rich to live in the same reality the rest of us do) story, with monsters as a backdrop. No, this is not great sci-fi, not a great romance, not even a great adventure film, but it is an evolving relationship under unusual circumstances that leaves you hoping that there just might be hope for the world . . . if these two can actually make it. Of course, there is no knowing if they do, so this is another of these tales that makes you slightly warm, a little fuzzy, and has a little of the scaly and slimy and just enough sinister overtones to make you want to cuddle and eat chocolate. If THIS is why you go to the movies (I often do) this is enough. It is not going to win any awards, but there are a lot of worse films and even more terrible television around, that this deserves at least one bowl of popcorn. I am saving the chocolate for another film! The monsters backstory has a nice twist to it, and the film is just intellectual to make you ask the right questions about who or what is right. There is a sense of hope, but the main protagonist also plays antagonist as well making really stupid mistakes we all know we never would. So, he is hard to like, or even pity. However, if his new girlfriend finds something to like…well…maybe we should give him a chance too. That’s about it. Watchable, not too annoying, but ultimately not worth 2 bowls of popcorn . . . unless of course you take it back out and watch it again 2 months later (I was bored) .

This is a very low budget move that delivers. I get the impression that this was shot "guerrilla" style and got people thay came across to actually act in the film. The story is about new found friendship and loyalty. About overcoming adversity and not running out on your obligations. I will admit the CG is a pretty obvious and lacking in some areas but the ending was amazing to me, beautiful and touching, like watiching a nature documentary. This IS NOT A ACTION MOVIE. My .02.

People are hating on this movie but it actually accomplishes a lot on a very low budget. It’s not the BEST movie ever, it wasn’t produced by J.J. Abrams, but for a low-budget first film, it’s very ambitious and worth a $2.99 rental.

The whole movie with these EMO characters OMG. So annoying. The only Director who dares to make a movie called monsters and show very little of them. And I guess due to budget made them big octopie! LOL
