I must have seen it 10 times or more. You know how, or maybe you don’t..., ,,, you sit in a theatre where a seriously funny but intelligent pun comes up. You find you are the only one laughing at something so incredibly funny, something which took a brilliant intelligence to create. Everyone else misses the amazingly intelligent joke, that is, everyone but you and maybe your spouse. I love this movie. Tho some have missed the deeper meaning of it, It is witty and plays on some very serious emotions. In the end, you are finding the hero to be the most amazing GUY.

It's a fun movie, nothing too special or admirable, but definitely something to save for a rainy day. :)

The most common complaint about Lockout from critics and other viewers is how Lockout is just soooo generic. In all honesty, it is a generic film, yet what film isn't generic these days??? I found myself very entertained with Lockout throughout the whole film for such a "generic" film. The action was pretty good, the comedy was fantastic and the acting was all there except for Snow's friend Mace played by Tim Plester, which happened to be a pretty short role, thank the stars. On a personal note: I usually never care enough to write a review nor comment on here, but after seeing the ratings this film has received I have to say something in its defense. Some of these unjustly ratings have come from users who simply want to lower the ratings just because they are not fond of particular actor/actress who was involved with the film. I've noticed some of these same users giving low ratings in other movie reviews stating that " I have never even watched this movie but i bet its stupid. Since I can't give this movie a no star rating i'll have to give it one star just to lower the ratings." I mean come on!!! Lol To all the users who truly watched the film and didn't like it, well you have no taste. Hahaha just kidding, to each his own.

I watched the movie in the theaters and it was amazing and I'm used to more hardcore films like Under Seige and others like that. In general lockout is very original and shows that how people turn it down because it's original and the theater version is better in the end because it shows more of the stories plot.

I was entertained by the wisecracking jokes that Guy Pierce delivers with such sarcastic prowess. It's not the best movie you'll see, but it's a good ride nonetheless.
  • I was disappointed…. but it was still good.

I was really excited to watch "Lockout". The premise was very cool, even though I NEW BEFORE HAND HOW SIMILAR IT WAS TO ESCAPE FROM>>>> movies. Guy was incredibly entertaining in his role. One of the plusses for the movie. The lack of brutality and creatively sadistic and evil prisoners was a disappointment… the skinny one in the movie was great I thought. The action and violence was another thing. It was like an action movie that had a lot of something that, on the surface, would pass as a lot of action and violence. In fact, the fight scenes were really short. There wasn't really any fighting toward the end of the movie, just some chases and a sort of beat the clock type of thing - which isn't suspenseful unless you really have scary or intense situations and villains or something. However, it was still a good movie and I like watching it. I've watched it a few times already. It's very entertaining and the action and main characters were still interesting and fun. Overall, not a great movie, but still fun and worth watching every now and then.

What is wrong with these critics? I like the humor in this movie. Every movie is not a blockbuster. Get of the hollywood high horse...

Guy is an amazing actor! The movie was fun, his one-liners were hilarious (you should watch it just for those) and the chemistry between him and Maggie Grace was surprisingly good. It was a solid action movie, no more no less.
