Description

Freda Kelly was just a shy Liverpudlian teenager when she was asked to work for a local band hoping to make it big. Though she had no concept of how far they would go, Freda had faith in The Beatles from the beginning and The Beatles had faith in her. Many people came in and out of the band’s circle as they grew to international stardom, but Freda remained a staple because of her unfaltering loyalty and dedication. As The Beatles’ devoted secretary and friend, Freda was there as history unfolded; she was witness to the evolution – advances and setbacks, breakthroughs and challenges – of the greatest band in history. For the first time in 50 years, Freda shares her story.

A potentially interesting opportunity to get behind the scenes history of the Beatles that is never really told unfortunately. Too long, could have been much shorter, and with more archival footage instead of moving across still photos over and over again.
  • Freda's Still Keeping Secrets!

It was interesting to hear from the perspective of someone who was at the front lines during the Beatles era. We get to hear to some degree of what went on at the boy's home and work life during the period of 1962-1965, from then on up to the breakup, the stories get vague to nonexistant. Mal Evans was not mentioned as one from the inner circle who has also passed away. Mal was with them from early on. Frida should still write a book. She did her son a great dis-service by not telling him about that time. Now he's gone and it's too late for him. When she dies, all those great memories will be gone with her. Being a true Beatle fan she should know how even fifty years later, we still want to hear their stories. We're not getting any younger either!

I'm lucky enough to be living near Liverpool and have had a chance to see the Beatles sites and learn their stories. This story about this wonderful, dedicated person just brings it all to life. If you ever loved the Beatles, you'll love this story. It's also about growing up, maturing, and learning how to leave things behind. Just enjoy.

This is by far one of the best documentaries of what life was like with the Beatles. Freda was first and foremost a fan, a fiercely loyal friend and dedicated employee. What a wonderful gift this film is to her grandchildren. Well done Freda! One can only wonder why none of the Beatles made sure that Freda would be taken care of financially after the breakup of the band. To learn she is still working and not even modestly well off after herhard work and dedication to the "boys" is the only disappointment I found with the film.
  • Not worth watching

I am a VERY big Beatles fan. I watched this with the only person I know who's a bigger fan. She has met all four Beatles. We were both disappointed with this movie. It's more about here and her circle of friends than the Beatles. She has a great collection of photos and memorabilia. She should have sold it all for a gallery collection. This movie shouldn't have been made because it's not enlightening and she's not interesting. I understand she was paid to keep secrets and I respect that but because of that she's not sharing much.

Great to hear a fresh and honest perspective from one of the personalities in the beatles' entourage. New perspective on an old but loved story, and coming from a very humble place. A really sweet and charming documentary

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this charming and unpretentious exploration of what seemed a very personal, approachable, and human backstory of the rise and fall of the Beatles and the phenomenon surrounding them. Charming.

Wasn't hard to tell why the Beatles loved this woman. She is lovely! Great documentary. I enjoyed hearing her stories.

I always enjoy films and documentaries about the Beatles but I didn't feel this film was worth the $6.99 I paid to rent it.
