Considering they had a small budget it was very well done. Anyone studying human evolution through a anthropological lense knows that the human evolution phylogeny is highly complex. As regard to the scientific method read your articles on human evolution. This is a show for the general public. If you believe in god then you will not like this show. If you are able to separate religion from science then this show can help you understand evolution-- visually.
  • Not for the unscientific and religious viewer....

Very well done. If this type of information threatens your beliefs then you should change the channel. I don't watch evangelist TV, yet Im not the least bit threatened by it either. Well, sorry to flood the pool with religious talk, just felt it was necessary to put it out there. For the people who find this to be a weak NOVA series, I could not see it. Very consistent and honest delivery. I would suggest it to anyone for the next five years or so, at which time there will most likely be more information and a new film will be necessary. Once again, if this information is challenging to your beliefs, just understand that this film is for people who base there knowledge on observation while religious belief is based on faith. It is like comparing apples to oranges. Evolution is a fact, seriously, and the evidence supporting it is so profound that any reputable scientist would agree. Sorry, but it is true.

Good exploration of our phylogenetic tree. If you believe science should be based on faith then stick to the fiction genre.

If u have seen this flick, pls provide real reviews addressing so-called "production" issue, & other pertinent info. As4 existing reviews--smells fishy. Ambushed by uncritical minds posing as critics?

If you are a religious individual then this is probably not for you. The documentary was very interesting, going back in time explaining the link between us and other human-like species. Like others had already commented it covers things on more of a high-level view, like some of the technology used, but the documentary is more about the past and less so about the technology.
  • frankenstein editing!!!!

They had about a nice half hour show and looped the same reel over and over with the same music, reformatting it with a terrible script that never showed any scientific procedure. The producer is Townsley, editor is Barbara Burst. If you are going to put your name behind something, I'm afraid you must take the blame. I'm sorry. "CSI" editing, effecting a bad Doc and 90's computer effects. Bad doc!!
  • Very Un-NOVA!!

NOVA dropped the ball on this one. Anyone with a 1st semester college science major will notice the poor science and hasty conclusions that go unchallenged. What ever happened to the scientific method?
