I've been a fan of Shear Genius since Season 2, and I dont like Camila Alves. Her accent made it hard for me to understand what she was saying half the time, and the whole "Hair is important!" deal drove me insane each week. Jaclyn Smith was better- at least I could understand her. But adding Jonathan Antin as a judge was a GREAT idea- I loved him this season!! He was awesome & should be the host!

They need to take Jaclyn Smith back into this show. God... I missed her. If the show decided to bring the new host, at least they need to find someone who can speak ENGLISH !!! The current host.... oh my god... she is just speaking for someone and she sounds sooooooooooo fake. And why do they need to bring in people from London and other countries??? I was so okay with the last two seasons settings. This new hostess is just irritating me... and that "CIAO" is so bad. Some contestant just expelled and she is still smiling and gives "CIAO" with a big smile like she does not care. She is just the worst hostess in the reality show history.

I really like this season. Except for Camila..... I can't ever understand what she is saying and when she says "You are the Winner" it sounds like she is saying WEINER..... By the way I would like to see who does her hair. I do like to see her new styles every episode.
  • Great show!

The only complaint I have is the new host's accent. It doesn't sound natural...it's just weird. But I love the show so much, it is worth putting up with it!
  • Better than previous seasons!

Way to go producers, it's off to a good start! I don't mind the hostess change. If I had the choice between the first two seasons with Jaclyn Smith, or this current season... sorry Jaclyn, I'm going with this season! It's produced sooooooo much better, and it's looking like we might actually find a hair "genius" (unlike the first two seasons).

This show is pretty fun to watch. It does seem however that the new host has spent tons of time with a dialect coach so she has this super weirded out pseudo American accent. I kind of wish she would just talk with a strong Spanish accent instead of trying to sound comfortable in English which she clearly is not. I mean get frikkin Charo to do it or something. No offense to the new host - she's sweet n all - I think it is a producer's blunder.
  • Great Stuff, but agreed, needs better hostess

The show itself is really great in terms of the characters and challenges and really holds your interest as it presents characters you care about (something Project Runway, has somewhat ceased doing). The judging panel could be better, and Camilla really means well, but seems really out of it and lacks a command of the English language (She's no Heidi Klum). Still, the show stands on its own and I highly recommend watching it.
  • Interesting Contestants, Boringly stiff hostess

Taking Jaclyn Smith out of hosting Shear Genius is a mistake. She brought class to this reality show. The new hostess is uninteresting, zero personality and speaks like she's got marbles in her mouth. Bring Jaclyn back!!!!
