I like the show, but don't like the way they portray the people. They make them all look like wackos and don't show any "useful" information. But, it's still entertaining.

For those interested in preparedness or self-reliance there are some valuable tips and tricks. For those interested in psychology, there are some fascinating displays of low-level mental illness. (it's like COPS in a sense, if you are featured on the show it's a given that you're off enough to sign a waiver showing the world how messed up you are.) Some of the events folks are preparing for are whackadoo (c'mon, a magnetic pole shift?) while others are quite prudent (financial collapse, earthquakes.) On balance it combines entertainment and education; you can mock people and learn at the same time.
