Kenny's character is rather pathetic and there is way too much profanity. Glad I only paid $.99 to watch it because it isn't worth more.

These days, there are TV shows that have feature film direction production quality. Unfortunately there are also films with TV direction and production quality. This is one of them. It starts from a hyped up "strike it rich!" story line and never convinces us that it's anything more than commodity. It's too bad because it could have been great. Lazy camera work, mediocre sensationalist writing, no direction to speak of and schizophrenic editing, topped off with a distracting and amateur soundtrack, and McConaughey's outstanding performance gets lost in the mess. Too bad.

Based on a true story with some artistic liberties that deviate from what really happened. I found it entertaining. Great acting.

All the hype of a high school pep rally, but not as entertaining.

The make-up team did a good job with McConaughey's face and he added the appropriate body weight and gestures, but overall I found the movie dull. Rags to riches to rags to riches, all the while thrashing about in a drunken stupor, I had no sympathy for "Kenny" and was only mildly interested in the story.

Typical Mathew McConaughey amazing acting. The movie is slow-paced, but it has a great story from beginning to right at the end. Well directed. Worth watching.
  • Boring

This movie is boring, regardless of whether you know the real story or not, this movie is boring. Matthew McConaughey pretty much mumbled his way throughout the movie, I had such a difficult time understanding most of the words that were coming out of his mouth that I almost turned on subtitles. Corey Stoll was a breath of fresh air, even though he had ony a few scenes in this movie. Lucky for me, I was able to rent it for the "movie of the week" promotional price of $0.99, so not a big loss. Word of advice...don't waste your money and the two hours on this!
