Katie Holmes is okay in this, but the film itself isn't very good, when you predict the ending from the begining something is wrong, nor is it satisfying.

I was so shocked at the End! I was on the Edge of my seat the whole Time! Right when you THINK you have it figured out Something Happens... Best Thriller I've Ever Seen!

This movie was really good, I was very entertained and drawn in. I watched al the way through and didn't guess anything close to the actual ending! It was surprising, although not totally unexpected. I would definitely recommend "Abandon" to a friend.

I'm baffled by the poor reviews. Whether you knew the answer or not, it still was a great movie and will satisfy you in every scene as it ratchets up suspense. As to the mystery, sure, there are bits and pieces of what's really going on throughout the movie, but like Sixth Sense there are enough false clues and dead ends that I was totally surprised by the ending. I didn't know "who did it" until a minute before it became clear, and then when it did, it was a very satisfying and horrendous finish when you realize all that had really been going on throughout the story. I think people that claim to have known "from the first scene" are just kidding themselves. I've got a BA in Lit and by the end realistically there could have been any number of possible endings. Anyway, mystery aside: all four of the main actor/actresses do stupendous jobs. I've never seen Homes or Deschanel in better roles. And the two male leads were very powerful. The movie takes you smoothly from scene to scene, holding your interest all the way. There are depths to each one of the four main characters, all who are interesting to watch and who pull you into their individual lives, (and are sexy to boot!). On top of all this, is the lush romance of a love unrequited, and a young woman's attempts to grapple with a broken heart, which is sure realistic enough and we've all been there. Maybe it's not "Oscar caliber" but if you stoke up some hot popcorn and throw on your slippers and a sweater, you won't be disappointed if you rent this movie. It'll keep you riveted to the screen, both for the intense storyline that keeps you guessing and the intriguing characters that are... or aren't? ... what they seem. One of my all time favorite iTunes picks.

I saw this movie in theaters and hadn't seen it up until about a month ago, but I remember it being much better... It has a twist to it and is very suspenseful and sexy, but it doesn't seem to pick up pace to much... I wish I could give it 3 1/2 stars, because it is an alright movie for being low key... I would defiantly recommend renting it...
  • Rent this movie, if you are not already sleepy

This was a decent movie but kind of slow. It was well written and the acting was good. It was better than most thrillers you've never heard of before that are on sale on iTunes, but nothing to write home about. I'm actually surprised that I'm writing this review, but I think the movie put me in some kind of weird trance.
  • ok. so it's not the BEST movie ever, but...

it was actually really good. i didn't even suspect the ending (at all) and i thought katie holmes did a surprisingly good acting job. it definitely is worth watching, if you've seen most of the movies already out. it's not a wildly amazing film, but it definitely deserves more than 2.5 stars.
  • rent it

It was the worst thriller I have ever seen. Just contrived and annoying. Katie Holmes acting leaves a whole character to be desired....Just don't waste your life watching this is all I'm saying.
